What a major dump he took on the City of Hampton. Leaving as the school system is about to be disemboweled. And who will take control of this sinking ship as the Captain sneaks into a lifeboat. Sounds like a major corporation.

Interesting move by Henrico county. Did they not take a look at the test scores, budget and safety at Hampton schools. Must not have had a big pool of candidates.

THEY had 30 and interviewed 6. They even hired someone as a consultant to find the right candidate. Good Luck, Henrico. Hope he does better there than the other school systems he's left in haste. When the going gets tough, Patty gets going.

Hope they go out side of the area to find a replacement....I don't think Hampton has any qualified candidates....

Dr. Russo is an outstanding Superintendent who works endlessly and diligently to take Hampton City Schools to the next level. We have accomplished so many great things under his leadership! He is an avocate for all stakeholders to include, community, parents, faculty, adminstrators, and the kids. As far as the budget- we all know that every school system is facing the same crisis with the school budget -so to say the superintendent is to blame for the 20 million dollar debt is a rediculous and unintelligent comment!

Best Wishes Dr. Russo! We will miss you! We will be in touch - while you are in Henrico.

Really, what level is the "next" level? Did he pay you to say these things? If you work for Hampton Schools, while you're "keeping in touch", see if he can ensure you employment for next year. He is headed to a larger system with half the debt that Hampton has. The only thing ridiculous(fyi--correct spelling)is missing and keeping in touch with the Patster.

I beg to differ. There is an impressive pool of potential candidates that currently work in the system. Let's just hope they all don't retire.

Actually I think Russo is being judged rather harshly. Hampton's test scores were poor long before Russo took over. I think that the scores actually improved during his time in the job. He should be judged on changes (positive or negative) that took place during his tenure but not on problems preceding his arrival.

... works endlessly and diligently to make himself look good.. isn't that what you meant to say? I mean after all, this is a great story for him professionally... complete with a $100K raise and untold bennies! Way to go loser.

Daily Horoscope for February 13

Scorpio

Resistance from others arises with regard to your efforts. You may strike trouble with in-laws or close associates and there could even be a move against you. Take the time to consult with everyone about what they want and then try to work in with them. If you have any problems with legal people or folk from overseas, tread carefully. Don't let your lifestyle betray your beliefs.
