Her kindness might have cost her life

So sorry for the loss. It is a shame she did not have someone to look out for her to make sure she wasn't taken advantage of and killed by someone who obviously didn't know what they were doing.

Barbara is my cousin. We spent a lot of time together when I visited New Orleans, and I remember feeling at the time that she was the big sister I never had. On Wednesday, earth became poorer, but Heaven certainly richer. I will never forget her.

I am Barbara's oldest brother. She lost her husband to cancer just 6 months ago and it left a big hole in her heart and in her life. He was her "rock" and, without him, she was lost. She missed Chuck every day for the last 6 months. Eddie Cooper hurt my sister for a few minutes and hurt our family for a little longer as we grieve for our loss but she is with her husband again and with her Savior in Heaven, enjoying a life that we can only begin to fathom. As the shock wears off and the hurt subsides, we will rejoice for her and be a little jealous of the love and joy and perfection she is experiencing. Barbara, until the day comes that we are all together again in Heaven, we will miss you. We love you!

She was truly a nice and caring woman. I had the pleasure of working with her in our nursery at church. The love and care she gave to those little babies showed she had a heart of gold and a heart of God. She will be truly missed.

Barbara was my aunt, and though I was appalled, shocked and grieved by her murder, I find I cannot hate Eddie Cooper. I can only hope that he finds peace and forgiveness. It's all anyone can hope for in a world where such senselessness exists.
