Well, no, we don't trust our neighbors.

And we don't trust the police to be there in time to help us if they attack us.

No one is denying this man his right not to have a gun. Why should he attempt to deny us our right to have one?

Where do all the mass killing happen? in GUN-FREE zones.

I have yet to see any of my personal guns get mad after listening to terrible rap music or Marilyn Manson and go kill people. Why do anti-gun advocates continue to take the blame away from the real problem??

Do thugs and miscreants care about laws? If they did, they wouldn't be thugs and miscreants, would they?

Disarming upstanding citizens only lets the uneducated trash to roam the streets without any fear at all.

Anti-gun liberals are destroying our society and turning the U.S. into a communist nation on a daily basis. Taking away things belonging to others "for the safety of all" is a communist and absurd ideal.

Get out of the state of freedom if you don't want people to be free.

Yes, let's "do away" with things that hurt people. Here is a nice list of "dangerous things" that kill FAR many more people than do guns (numbers from the CDC)...

-Car accidents- 23,487
-Drowning- 3,653
-Run over by cars- 2,987
-House fires- 1,736
-Poisoning- 1,530
-Falling- 567
-Accidental gun deaths- 542
-Machinery- 107
-Cut/pierced- 22

So, there you have it. Let's get rid of your car, Mr.Doust. It is FAR more dangerous than my gun.

...By the way, that was for the years 2000, 2001, and 2002 combined. The CDC published those numbers.

TO: Michael J. Doust

Sir, Your comments about ridding society of every gun is the most idiotic idea conceived by one person that I have read in a long time, if ever. Mr. Doust, I hope you re-think your position because IT AIN'T GOING TO HAPPEN.

"Yes, the National Rifle Association, gun advocates and manufacturers would scream their heads off, so let them. The safety of our citizens is far more important than their selfish claim that their Second Amendment rights would be violated. "
I'm not an NRA member, but I'm an ARMED supporter of the Constitution of the United States - and you sir, are obviously a Leftist gun grabber.
Come and take my weapons if you like, but be prepared for myself and 185 million others to fight you, the cops, the government and anyone else who tries.

You know, I think he might be on to something, What a great idea! Of course, we'll have to get rid of all the criminals first. Perhaps we should just do away with all people thereby eradicating potential criminals too.

Who wants to go first? I'll volunteer Michael J. Doust of the Newport News.

Don't know where to begin, the implicit welcoming-in of the Police State is a bit scary here, or the idea that criminals would comply - or that it's gun-owners who cause crimes affecting the safety of the rest of America...Sheesh.

That would quite possibly be the quickest way to set off a revolution in this country. Apparently doesn't know how the revolutionary war started. I'll let him in on a hint...the British tried to disarm the colonials.

I think these leftists bastards need to shut their mouths and get the F*** out of America. Now, before they end up causing something they won't be able to finish (since we all know they are all unarmed, RIGHT?)

Sure we are afraid of our neighbors and anyone else who comes to do us harm. If you could just look at a person and determine their intent, then maybe we might stand a chance before getting robbed, killed, raped and more. But you cannot punish someone for intent, you have to wait until they break the law. Then if you get a hold of the cops, then you have to wait on them. In the meantime, its you and the bad guy. And guess who has the gun, because you took mine away.
Sorry Charlie

Ms. Doust, how does it feel living in the looney bin? You are so out of touch with reality I believe you must be living in your own little fantasy world. Please adjust your tinfoil hat, it must be fitted too tightly

Why are people so afraid of guns and not cars?
It is natural for people to be fearful of what they do not understand, or have not been introduced to. Lets look at our relationship with the automobile. It has been said that we see our vehicle as an extension of ourselves; we like our cars, trucks, and sport vehicles. We also are comfortable around them, how much thought do you put to the fact that when you are standing on the curb waiting for the "walk" light, we are merely feet from three thousand pounds and often much heavier moving objects. Or when we get that "go" to cross the street, the first vehicles in line as we pass are in their natural state of ready to go, held back only by the drivers contact with the brake peddle. This does not bother us in the least. We have grown used to it from years of riding in cars, watching cars, and even driving cars ourselves.
But what do we really know about that driver in the car that goes speeding past as we stand on the curb, or the driver anxiously waiting for the green light as we take our turn to pass through that very same intersection. We dont know a darn thing; they could be a priest, a Doctor, our neighbor from the next street over. They could also be a twice convicted rapist, someone with mental health issues, or a pedophile. Yet we walk right past, and dont give it a thought in the world. All this person has to do to change our world forever is to let there foot off the brake pedal, intentionally or not, the deed is done. If they steered the car a little to the right and hit is as we stand on the edge of the curb, intentionally or not, yet we entrust our lives with these people we dont know, never saw before, or will probably never see again. And we dont give it a second thought.
Statistically speaking, automobile accidents kill more people every year than guns, thats including justified homicides, when a police officer kills a criminal, or a battered woman kills her abusive partner, that is a Homicide, a justifiable one, but it goes into the same column as a cold blooded murder when looking at deaths related to guns. Yet some people will panic at the sight of a gun, even those who have never been touched by any kind of violence in there lives. Why, its made of metal, and plastic just like the automobile that just passed them within 2 feet at 35 miles an hour. It has no will of its own, and is incapable of action outside of that precipitated by its possessor. Yet it strikes fear into the hearts of millions of people every day. Still the same argument arises every time an attempt to relax the laws as to where citizens can lawfully carry a concealed gun,the streets will run red with the blood of the innocent. For over ten years we have heard this argument, it hasnt come to be. The reasons are the same as to why there arent mass road rage incidents on our highways, People understand that their actions bear consequences. If you are cut off by an inconsiderate driver, do you run them off the road, or ram their car. No, you get mad, maybe cuss to yourself, and you get over it. But why. Because you dont want to get into trouble for causing an accident, you dont want to live with the fact that you hurt or killed someone, you also dont want to open yourself to litigation that would surely take everything you own. So why is it so hard to grasp that this same logic would apply to the use of a gun? But please realize that we are not trying to force anything on anyone else, we are simply trying to protect our ability to protect ourselves, and our families.

Mr. Doust you must visit United Kingdom with the intention of staying. The UK will let you play with your little sand bucket and shovel in your little sandbox in your own Utopian world, and when some thug or Islamic come to thump on you or blow you up, you can call the unarmed cops to help you.

I am APPALLED by the criminal ant-constitutuional ant-gun appeal to cheap emotions made by Mr. Michael Doust, above! Let HIM be a coward, if he wants. But, as a Jewess in the US, may I remind everyone that America wasn't won with a registered gun, and that criminals are stopped by FIREARMS, not by talk? That is why all REAL Americans put our 2nd Amendment FIRST!!

I'm sure Able will be glad to hear that his brother Cain will have his guns removed.

Oh sorry, guns didn't exist back then, Huh, but crime and murder did. I just don't understand. Guns are supposed to be responsible for crime.

So Mr.Doust, should we also expect that all the criminals will hand over their guns? Should we expect that they will not assault people because guns are illegal? Obviously you nor anyone close to you has been a victim of crime. Sadly people like you need this to happen to open your eyes and see the world as it is. You sir can not protect your loved ones with your sheep attitude and I feel for them. I am a proud and responsible gun owner who is in control of his own safety due to my constitutional right. Please wake up this is the real world..... I will pray for you!

Sorry,

I have one more,

Aren't street drugs illegal, or banned, Yet for some strange reason the criminals just keep on importing them, selling them, and using them.

Solve that one, and we'll talk about this whole gun thing. Until then, pass the Hopps #9 and a fresh rag please.
