Thank your democrat representative for the gas prices. Until we remedy the use and dependance of oil, especially foreign oil, we need to use our natural resources.

Drill offshore, through the shell of a sea turtle if necessary, but drill NOW!. Drill in Alaska, through the head of a polar bear if necessary, too. We are sending billions to people who do not like us.

I was always under the impression this is a United States. That we work together to fight the Middle Eastern "oil barons". Why is it then Louisiana and Texas has drilling off their coasts (sometimes to the detriment of the environment) and the other states in this country, up and down the Eastern coast, the same in the west, Florida, and some interior Western states refuse to drill.
Is it the "not in my backyard syndrome"? I hate that our coastline is dotted with rigs and that our environment here is so fragile but we're doing the right thing to help with oil production. If you want domestic drilling to get us out of this mess with the people who hate us email your Congressmen/women and Senators. Tell them we should be paying 92 cents per gallon as they do in Saudi Arabia. Tell them we need to stop shipping our oil to China and keep it right here where it's produced to keep their constituents from choking to death on high gas prices.
Now I'll climb down off my soapbox before I fall and hurt myself!!

Drill Now Drill Here Pay Less

Ten years from now we will be in even worst shape than now if we are not allowed to drill in our own fields. There is NO reason at all why we shouldn't be drilling off Virginia. The OPEC nations and other oil producers will lower prices to try to stifle the competition from opening our fields. We should however require that any and all oil and gas pumped from these fields be for US consumption only. This will also allow us the means to stop supporting the countries that are trying to kill us. We have been providing funding for terrorist through the purchase of oil from the terrorist supporting nations. Let's become independent from those countries.

It is rather obvious that congress is broken, Dem or Rep if they can't serve the better interest of the people who elected them then it's time to send them home and get someone who will serve the people. I urge all readers to elect all new senators and representatives. If something is broke in your house you fix it. Our congress is BROKE

hey Che, there hasn't been a single drilling accident that led to an oil spill of any significance in the last 30 years - even with Katrina. I think we can handle it, and if I have to choose between energy independence and a rare environmental problem, I take independence! If you don't drill because of your concern about a potential spill, then dont walk outside your house, because there are all kinds of bad possibilities abound.

Pray tell, comrade, what exactly are the consequences you refer too? There is a bucket load of drilling now and nothing is being damaged, so you must be afraid of what MIGHT happen. Since I live in Louisiana and drilling is at our front door. Would you please be kind enough to expound on the ecological problems you spoke of in your earlier post. Please don't refer to me as an idiot, this isn't personal.

There was only one incident of oil spillage. It was from Murphy Oil Refinery in Chalmette, LA. The ground was contaminated and had to be scraped down 6" or more in some places but the last time I passed thru that area the grass was green and flowers were growing. The Gulf rigs took a horrible beating but there were no incidents.

When are the american people going to wake up to the fact the democrats have swung far left ... and want high oil prices ... they want carbon taxes ... and they want your cars off the highways. The democrats are not going to do anything to add additional oil supplies to bring gasoline prices down. They would have you believe investing in wind technology is going to help gasoline prices at the pump. You can't be that gullible.
