It is shortsighted for us as a country to not offer financial aid to children of the undocumented. Reality is most will continue to stay in this country seeking a better life. The opportunity for an education will provide well educated, future, highly skilled , grateful, loyal citizens thus enriching our beloved country.

What about all the deserving citizen's children who have to struggle to get a higher education, if children of illegals or illegals can get breaks shouldn't law abiding citizen's and thier children get those breaks first? Shouldn't it be easier for some one who works hard and obeys the law to get an education? It's unfortunate that they feel they need to be here illegally, but I feel like the schools are ignoring good behavior and rewarding bad behavior by doing something like this. It sends the wrong message to people.
no way

Some people complain about it. A few whine about it on message boards. But no one who is against these kinds of things actually do anything about it. They all seem to be too busy, or too lazy, or more interested in spending their time involved in other very serious business. Like : what's up with American Idol, or what's the latest news gossip about the Rock Stars, Sports Stars, or TV/Movie Stars.
Far too many people knowingly and repeatedly voted in pro-illegal, pro-open border Politicians. What did you expect ?

They are doing it because they have pushed their own costs so high that hardly anyone can afford to attend college any more and many graduates will never get out of debt. As this becomes clear to more and more people enrollment is likely to drop which means you have to get your income by taking in students that someone else will pay for. Foreign students pay cash and full price so that is what, one assumes, they intend to charge the federal authorities that want to finance the education of the "illegals."

I wish they would give my daughter tuition and aid.

No. What is shortsighted is not to offer financial aid to the children of American citizens who are struggling to pay their bills and who pay the taxes in order to supplement this financial aid.

Too many AMERICAN children cannot afford college. Those after school jobs have now been taken by illegals so they can't pay for college themselves. Many don't qualify for scholarships because, since the "no child left behind" rule came into play, many lost interest while everything stopped so the illegal could learn English and get caught.

Let me tell you about reality. We Americans pay the bill through our taxes. We Americans are losing jobs and going broke. If anyone is "entitled", it would be Americans first. The illegal can either go home or pay for their education themselves. We are tired of supporting them and giving away benefits to those ungrateful people who will not obey our laws and assimilate to our culture.

You're confused Tony.
The opportunity for an education to provide a well educated, future, belongs To Americans Only. What are people Thinking?! Why should I pay for an illegal's education when I can barely get my own kids through college?
Why?

but there is LITTLE we CAN do about it.

The population voted to get rid of affirmative action in our higher education facilities. Lawsuits and protests ensued, wasting time, wasting money, clogging out court systems.(Funny how those dedicated to their college education can seem to find time to protest about non-sense, but then they want someone else to pay for their education.

The State of California voted to deny same-sex marriage. Regardless of your viewpoint, the people voted. Again, there are lawsuits and protests wasting more time and money, and clogging our justice system.

Time and time again, the people vote for a president of their country, but the Electoral College decides who the president is, not the people. People complain about the war in Iraq, and how the previous president should have gotten our troops out. Yet many don't even know that the president is ultimately powerless, as the Congress, elected by the people, have ultimate power. If they wanted the war stopped, they could have done so.

Why should I vote for something, only to have it challenged and ultimately nullified? We are supposed to live in a country where the voice of the people is heard and followed. That simply isn't happening.

<quoted text>
You have voted yourself into a hell of a mess and the state legislature may have to change any number of things to get you out of it. You can vote. They can vote. No vote is ever final and you can always have another initiative on the ballot next time to try to undo what the legislature does.

You tried to vote yourself low taxes and so your state is broke. You have utterly failed to even slow down the migration from Mexico by vote or any other means. You can vote to bring slavery back if you want, but not all votes stand and not all votes are wise.

Now you want federal money to bail yourselves out of the hole you voted yourself into. We're three hundred miles from your state line and we can blow up the bridge, I suppose, to keep your little voting hands off out ballots, but the contagion is rampant here as well as Arizonans try to vote themselves into low taxes and no debt. It still won't work.

Who was it suggested building the border fence around California? You can sell us wine and we can sell you straight jackets. We can exchange them in Needles or Kingman, your call.

This is substantially correct.

Here is an interesting headline that adds to Yada's comments:

Steny Hoyer Laughs at Taxpayers' Request that Members of Congress Read the Bills (Comprehensive Healthcare).

Basically, our elected officials (both R and D) simply do not care about the average US citizen any longer (if they ever did).
