Communal living makes a comeback

Full story: The Tennessean

It's what small towns used to be like. When Linda Hoyle needs a new pair of shoes or even a $2 toothbrush, she doesn't make a trip to the nearest store. via The Tennessean

The people you are talking about are not hippies and it is not a cult. They are Gods people, and they are very good people. They are Christian people and they care for one another, and help one another should. They don't all have to live in the community, they can have their own home.I wish more people were like them, maybe the world would be a better place

After reading your article on communal living, I can't help but go back to the early days of some other "Hippie Cult" group.
They did have a charasmatic leader who presented them with a way of life that would bring them closer to Jesus Christ.
Well, the village elders were abhored, this charasmatic man was taking all the fine, strong, healthy men of the village.
He also invited women to join the "cult". However, they were kept in a private, locked facility. After years of tremendous growth they enjoyed the trial and tribulations of life. They lasted, so far, some 800 years.
Their name, The Franciscans, the charasmatic leader St. Francis of Assisi, Patron saint of Peace, Animals, Agriculture among many more. I was privilaged to live with these simple and peacful followers of Christ, but decided my path was to raise special needs chilren, outside of community.
One more point: Remember their lives were based on the principals of yet another "cult like hippie" - Jesus the Christ.
Thank you for the opportunity to share with you a form of communal living.

don't know who they are, but, more of us may have to begin living in the same manner, if finacial issues don't get any better. We may have to resort to the same. Who knows!

Let your imagination take you on a wonderful journey today, whether that means curling up with a good book, losing yourself in an adventure film or exercising your own creative talents. Don't discount any hunches or psychic flashes that come to you because they could be a lot more accurate than you imagine, particularly if they link you with people who live overseas.
