It really doesn't matter if you like them or not. I tend to agree with whocares47335, however crudely put...But, I still feel this is historic and agree 100% with Thomas. This type of town is the kind of thing both canidates need to experience when visiting Indiana. Obama was in North Liberty at the VFW a couple months or so back, and even drank a beer while he talked. As for voting, I do wish there was a "none of the above" option.

what is 'stones' talking about...'with white folks....' People like you is what we don't need around...spreading negative remarks that don't even matter. how 'bout saying...'why is obama around short people, doesn't he like tall people anymore?' or why is obama always around men, doesn't he like women anymore? duh. how 'bout focusing on real issues that will really make a difference in our lives. Let's focus on what Obama will do to help make our world a better place.

If he spent all his time campaigning with black folks and in the inner city and urban areas Then people like you would say he was a racist and had a black agenda.HE is in a no win situation

I am sure that he is being called and oreo by some ethnic groups. The race card is played whenever it is advantageous.

I am concerned about our nation and the direction it is going. Honestly, I do not like either candidate. One is old and probably out of touch with mainstream America and the other has a great smile and is a gives a great speech. Neither really give specifics about their platform and nothing is going to change except Obama has a lot of new programs. I wonder how we are going pay for all of it. Just wait until you see your taxes under an Obama administration. At least McCain has real experience and has served his county. McCain will get my vote for that alone. This is one of those I am voting for the best of the worst.

Oh Puhleaze!

The fact that Katrina was coming was in ALL the papers. It was all over the television news.

The idiot for a mayor in New Orleans did NOTHING to evacuate the people. The lame brain governor did nothing either. Do you not remember the pictures of the buses parked and flooded instead of GONE with evacuees? Under LAW the local jurisdictions are the responsible party for their people. They CAN ask for help from the federal level but the isn't sent until asked for.

This time the help was asked for in ADVANCE.

This is my hometown! Even though I live in Florida now, it is nice to see a Democratic presidential nominee come to a small town in an extremely conservative state. It may be a pass through, but I think it might show that Indiana may be in play!

Oh, Indiana is definately in "play". With all of the politicians trying to see how fast they can run people right OUT of Indiana. Raise our taxes a bit more.... see how much they will take before they just up and leave the whole state!
Fine, I say we should all leave the state and make the politicians all live here and pay their own wages and their taxes. Let them live off of their own funding for a while. See how they like paying for their own raises, increased fuel and taxes on cigarettes and alcohol. They can make all the rules and tax hikes for themselves!!!
It isnt like there are many good paying jobs left in the state anyways. Most have moved to Mexico!

If you believe Obama is the best choice of the two, you are easily lead by the media. The majority of people voting for him believe he is the answer to all of their prayers because he is simply a Dem. The war will end, the economy will bounce back and the U.S. will be on top once again. I believe that was the same mentality during the congressional elections in which Dems took over the house. Have you noticed a change? Of course not, but it's Bush's fault. The same guy that fought to put a stimulus package in affect. The president is only one man. If you elect a Dem, it will be disastrous. Even after the election they forget to stop campaigning and help run a country. You all do what you want, but an 'I told you so, dumbass' will be coming to all who vote for Obama

I can't belive that I had to look on an Indianapolis web-site to find out about this! None of the north-east (FORT WAYNE) stations have this story on their web-sites. So much for "indiana's Newscenter" and "Coverage You Can Count On." Looks like I need to look to Indy to see what is going on in my own back yard.

You have NO brains if you believe this nonsense! Who were the people ultimately and primarily in charge of running the evacuation:
Mayor Nagin - you guessed it! A Dem
Governor Blanco - yet ANOTHER dem!

Yep, the GOP should have stepped in right away in recognition of this miserable and incompetent bunch! Remember folks, if a disaster is on the way, and democrats are in charge, it is the responsibility of the GOP to step in and save the day before anything bad happens!
