Truancy laws are a crime against humanity, designed to control and brain wash the entire populaces equally. Passed into law for the making of profit and taxation. Possibly to suppress creativity and development of the human spirit! I am happy, I think I am one who slipped through the cracks. I don't think you slipped through the cracks..unfortunately psychotherapy is not routinely offered as part of the curriculum..now please excuse me, I need to go meet someone on planet Earth. Sorry,

How much do you not want to pay for that? Let's use the multi-child discount. I will babysit 30 kids for 2.96/hr ea. 5 hours per day for 180 days per year. I will teach them math for free! Teachers are not the reason schools are broke! Chico gets approx $5500 per child ... $165,000 per classroom Give the teacher half. What TF are we spending the other $82,500 on? uh...read the budget...facilities, admin, maintenance, and above all, special education costs. the teachers union is destroying education in CA. Do away with tenure. The good teachers don't care about it. It's the old crappy ones that need the protection so they can slack off.

The good teachers don't care about it. It's the old crappy ones that need the protection so they can slack off. Show me the link! Show me where it is broken down, school by school. Show me how a school of 600 kids spends 3.3 million dollars educating those kids. Show me! I'm dying to see the numbers! It is not broken down that way. It is not broken down in a way that is easy for anyone but an accountant to understand. Again, give the teachers $82,500 a year--we don't everyone says they are paid too much. That leaves $1.65 million dollars. For each and every elementary school. SHOW me where the money goes! That is all I am asking. Once you find out how much money has gone for the new math program we "had" to buy, you will be amazed. Multiply that up and down the state and BILLIONS are being siphoned away from kids to book publishers. BTW, 2+2 STILL = 4 so we didn't NEED new math. That is why we are broke: cronyism and graft. The same evil twins that are bankrupting EVERY government agency. While you're getting the facts to back up your arguments, see how much money gets wasted because California has TWO state departments of education. Once you realize that close to one-third--a million dollars PER SCHOOL!!!--OF THE MONEY IS not EDUCATING KIDS, maybe we can work together to fix the problems.

The teachers and their union thugs feel it's reasonable to get pair $458.33 (that's $82,500, requested and deemed fair above, divided by 180 days) a day for teaching. That equates to %110.00 for each hour they are in front of the students actually "teaching" (based on 5 periods a day, 50 minutes per period). This is what the teachers feel if reasonable compensation from the California Taxpayer for the service they provide. Please, think about this prior to feel sorry for the poor teachers.

You edited this and it is still wrought with this many errors? Man, maybe instead of knocking education so hard you should try and get one. And by saying teachers make $82,500 per year, you are implying that ALL teachers make this amount. It is only the teachers that have been teaching for literally DECADES that make this amount of money. How do you advocate so hard against teachers' salaries, yet you have absolutely NO IDEA what you're talking about? What is it that you do for a living? How much do you make for what you do? If you've got "No Place To Hide" then you'll have no problem telling us...right, Chickenshit?

That's nothing more than greed.

That's nothing more than greed. It is not my insistence. I used that number for the sake of argument. Are you that thick? Do you personally know of any teacher making that much? Do you think they ALL do? You assume a 250 minute teaching day. where did you pull that number from? Teachers have to be there more than that. Do you suggest they not be paid for time they are required to be at their job? They should not be paid for the time between classes? If your kid tripped and split her little head open--between classes--would you want the teacher to just stand there? Did you add in the BS conferences that must be attended to keep current? No, you cannot add, either.

What is it that you do for a living? How much do you make for what you do? If you've got "No Place To Hide" then you'll have no problem telling us...right, Chickenshit? OK. I’ll play. I currently work in the construction industry and make a hair under $21.00 per hour. Thus far, in 2009, I have worked and been compensated for approximately 2300 hours. My employer provides me and my family medical, dental and vision benefits. I also participate in the company 401K plan graciously provided by my employer. Furthermore, I voluntarily coach teams of two youth sports programs throughout the year. I have done this for over fifteen years (at least five of these years I had no children of my own participating). I am a very strong supporter (both vocally and financially) of local youth athletics including both local High Schools. My academic strength is mathematics. Over the years, I have tutored many struggling students in Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry and Calculus (students who have, for one reason or another, fallen behind in their school math class and have all but given up – classifying themselves “stupid”). I have never charged any student for my time. To see a child give all they have in an attempt to understand a single concept and the look on their face when they finally grasp that concept, is priceless to me. It’s amazing what most children will go through if they are simply given the time and opportunity to succeed. There you go. Quid pro quo.

Let's forget that most teachers teach 5 periods a day of approximately 50 minutes in length per period. Let's even say they work ten hours a day. You have stated several times that you believe teachers should be compensated $82,500 annually (for goodness sake, read your previous posts and read your ISP name). Bo you deny that most teachers are contracted to work 180 days a year (please, this number is a common admission by many teachers on these threads)? This still calcs out to $458.33 per day. Do you deny this? So for our ten hour teacher work day (what a joke), teachers should make $45.83 per hour? FYI; a seven hour work day (8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with a half hour lunch) calculates to $65.48 per hour. Is this a reasonable wage?

And you're also a liar. You just made up who you are and what you do. If you have "No place to Hide," why don't you share your real name? If you don't work for the school district, you don't have the fear that employees do. I think you're a plant. People in the district office have shared that their bosses write in these all the time. I guess you will just lie again, but I had to say that I don't believe you.
