It's nice to see that the first post was a positive one. You know how heated the subject of disc golf gets around here!

I checked out the course last weekend and it has improved. I hope the people volunteering on the course consider doing the same for other parts of the park.
I would like to see more patrols of the course to make sure things are safe and the alcohol ban is enforced. |

Nice work Lon.

Great job to everyone that was up there! Thanks to the City and the park rangers for providing equipment, materials and humor! Between this and the Catalyst houses that are being build there is a lot of goodwill here right now. And that is certainly a good thing to see these days.

What a nice job! I was there at 8:45 and I have to say thank you to all of the volunteers who helped. Chico Disc Golf has a strong , dedicated following that will be there to volunteer when it is needed!

If they really wanted to improve the disk golf course they could have put a stationary bong next to the 420 bench.

If you want to improve your spelling or knowledge of Multiple meaning Words you could have went to 3rd grade! A disk is something you store electronic information on and a "disc" is an object that is thrown to simulate a golf club! |

How far have we come in one year. On Nov. 18 last year the city voted to remove the disc golf courses.
Thanks to all who have worked so hard to get the non profit going, and thanks to the 27 people who worked to repair hole 18. It was great to see the big difference from the start to the end. I am looking foward to the work next saturday the 21st. Special thanks to the city and espically Dennis B. for making this all possible. |

So volunteer you seem to enjoy the power to ENFORCE anything over any population you don't approve of... |

Volunteer
Do you volunteer to help clean up areas of the park you don't use? If you do right on, if you don't then how does your statement hold any weight? Would you like to see more supervision, as far as alcohol is concerned, throughout the entire park or just on the "course"? So much animosity and negativity towards Disc Golfers...all because we want to throw some discs! |

So, they revegetated yesterday with seed and it's already greening up and is fixed????
A handfull of people dinking around for a single morning and the site is already greened-up and the mudhole-mess is gone... Are you kidding?? That sure is some potent "grass-seed" you guys are spreading around up there!! |

I have volunteered on trail work and clean up. I also clean up the park on my own. I would help with the course, but after all of the threats of violence and death from pot addled disc golfers, I think it would not be a good idea. Actually, I picked up garbage on the course last Sunday morning around 10:30 a.m. Most of the garbage I saw and photographed was alcohol related. Too bad a bunch of you can't follow the rules or have some of that good clean family fun you are always lying about. I like good beer, but I just seem to have the decency and restraint to not bring it in the park. I do plan on photographing people using the course when it is closed and folks smoking pot. Nothing like a really good camera lens to shed a little light on the truth! I'll be zoomin' you later! |

If Gregg, Lon and their dweeb followers, like Born in Chico, had any character, they would address some of the behavioral problems with users of the 32 site. The real problem is the people who use the site do not really acknowledge the course as being owned by the city. I truly believe Gregg and Lon consider the course to be theirs more than other people's. They want it to be their party zone and completely free from park rules and the law. |

I think it would be good to get this stuff off the front page of the paper. The disc golfers got their way to trample the Park. Let those of us who care about the Park just mourn the loss of a beautiful piece of Nature. We don't need to be given updates and reminded of how what is precious is often run over by the squeaky wheels.

Now this is shaping up to be a picture some including me would like to see painted and hung in city hall.
The good citizens of Chico working hard to clean and restore the 32 site hoping to enjoy the game of disc golf. While all the while C K Kitterman is sneaking around in the bushes with his camera in hopes of catching someone smoking or dropping something on he ground. Maybe looking to see kids kissing on a bench. Typical! |

Post your address and I will send you money to buy a sense of humor. |

It must be a record - the first six comments in a disc golf thread in the ER forums are positive instead of negative. Quick - alert the media! It might never happen again!
Unfortunately, most of the rest make up for it and then some. Altogether, 7 good and 10 negative comments so far and counting... |

Now, since the course is all clean, maybe someone can teach the golfers how to drive and park in the correct place. Driving 20 miles and hour with cotton-mouth looking for the driveway and then stopping in the highway because you missed the turn is not safe. Additionally, the emergency turn-out is not a parking place and if you must park there, stay out of the dry grass. The char marks in the gravel and burned grass are still there from the vehicle fire this summer. Umm, Humboldt Fire all over again? Use your heads. "Dude, I dropped my roach and the car just burned all up and stuff."

Great to hear of volunteers helping out.
On the city webite, an agreement with the disc golf non-profit is on its way to a meeting this week. Interesting to note that it includes a "General Public Availability Requirements section that gives the non profit excusive use of the land on up to 24 days a year. Have a look! So this means that hikers and bikers are banned? http://www.chico.ca.us/government/minutes_age... |
