I honestly do not know why we bothered to bag our leaves this year since they have adorned our Christmas decorations all through Dec. and now will have several feet of snow on top of them.
We kept hoping each day in Dec that surely this would be the day. But it did not happen.
Although I notice tha most all of the other neighborhoods of Hamden have been picked up and certainly Ridge Road never has a stray leaf left there.
But the roads running off Dixwell below Putnam have had to endure this eyesore since November.
I can only take comfort that we will be moving away from here within the next year because we find little to recommend Hamden to us.
Our neighborhood is not upscale or even middle class but we and our neighbors have put much time and effort and pride in keeping the homes we own attractive and appealing. It is too bad that some neighborhoods matter more than others in this town where we all pay our considerable taxes.
