If the driver of the pickup was breaking the law at the time of the accident (and it seems likely given the circumstances), then I agree that it is fitting that he also lose his life, as he is directly responsible for killing two people.

I think that it's interesting that the State Patrol doesn't know what happened when the second man in the truck only suffered a broken leg. I'd think he would make a decent witness, unless his lawyer isn't letting him talk. Hmmmmm.
