It makes you wonder about the driver. And while we do have a stretch with the 35E/35W split....the area this happened is very straight and the driver went through a very broad grassy median. Seems like something was up with the driver that caused the accident.

According to the State Patrol report, the pickup that went thru the median started rolling, and the other car (a Camry) was hit by the rolling truck.

As usual, the driver of the car that went out of conrol was more than likely texting or fumbling with his cell phone or Ipod.

yes I am guessing that a half done message is on an open cell phone somewhere in that wreckage. It is going to get to the point that you can't drive anymore. Heard the driver of the truck was 19. It will only get worse as time goes on. My sympathies to those in the car. The law will do nothing with the truck driver. These distacted drivers make the drunks look like a minor problem on the roads.

what i don't get is how the idiots who caused the accident survived with out their seatbelts and the man and child who were wearing seatbelts died. too bad it wasn't the other way around. i hope the driver and his buddy get charged with wreckless endangerment and vehicular manslaughter! teenagers these days take driving for granted. did they not learn anything when they took their drivers ed classes, if they even took it?!

It's good that we're all jumping to conclusions about what happened when all we know was that the vehicle crossed the median.

The accident scene is on You Tube as a warning to others about the senseless carnage on this stretch of Interstate 35.

Well, the bigger vehicles always win, I bet if the Man and the child were in a big truck they would have had a better chance against the out of control idiot.

I can see how a 75-105mph out of control truck could have done this having lived up here long enough to know the mentality of some of these guys and their trucks, they drive their trucks to intimidate other drivers.

The little Toyotas are death traps. I ought to know, I have two of them. The Tercel gets 40mpg and the Tacoma gets 30mpg, and I save money on the commute.

Too bad that these kind of accidents have to happen though. I've noticed that people going north merging into I 35 are obsessed with speed. I don't think there is a solution to the problem, it will persist till we run out of Oil.

Because the pickup rolled up onto the front of the car, killing the two people in it.

The belted people = dead. The unbelted people = alive.

Keep that in mind when the state shoves their primary seatbelt **** down your throats.

No, it's all about the "pachyderm" of the vehicle that caused the accident. They were safe by way of extra mass. That is the mentality of trucks, I am safe, so I don't have to be careful.

Saw this about a minute after. Heroic people were trying to get to the occupants of the car.(Father and small child) Truck overturned. I am amazed to find out those killed were belted, and that those in the vehicle that crossed survived...unbelted. The individual ejected from the vehicle(truck?) is undoubtedly the "majorly" injured, but we suspected he didn't survive as we came across the scene. Very sad, horrible accident and losses for the families involved. Especially the child.

Although the article does not report it, I am willing to bet excessive speed was involved by the driver of the pickup

Almost afraid to ask...was the pick up insured?...probably not...way too many people are allowed to drive without insurance!

What difference? If the uninsured thought there were consequences they might not be out ther!

If someone sees a vehicle coming at them, the proper evasive action is to slam on the brakes as they steer to the right (or away from the vehicle)....don't try to dodge it or swerve around it!

The slower you are going the less the impact....gruesome thought but, thought I'd share it!

Typical thoughts of a gay euphorian.

Daily Horoscope for December 4

Pisces

Go carefully, Pisces, because you could be vulnerable to those who might want to mislead you in some way. Unfortunately, you'll also do a good job of misleading yourself if you turn a blind eye to difficult situations. By taking an escapist attitude to anything that seems like too much hard work, you make a rod for your own back under current aspects. Don't persist in this for too long or it will lead to trouble.
