I dont know the circumstances behind this fatal accident but we need to drive instead of multitasking behind the wheel. our lawmakers need to ban cellphone use when were operating a vehicle. the penalty should to be forfeiture of your vehicle cause if we dont start paying attention many more peple are going to die on our highways . I see young adults during rushour textmessaging. Its really sad

We were right behind the accident. We didn't see it but there was a red truck that went flying by us at 90+ MPH. That is a bad stretch of road. People are always flying down there. I agree with the texting but it's not only the young adults. I see people of EVERY age doing stupid things behind the wheel.

So true that every age is doing stupid things while driving. My daughter and I were almost run off the 35W freeway yesterday by an old woman lighting her cig. The old woman was going 45 mph weaving in the center of 2 lanes. Hope she dies of cancer before she kills someone with her car. I sincerely mean that.

I agree. I let people go by me who are driving bad. I have a young daughter and have more fear of another driver than myself. You never know who is you are on the road with. I am praying for everyone involved in that crash.

We need stronger enforcement of the driving laws in this state. People are driving around in a fog and not paying attention. Why do these people pass their driving tests???? Get tougher Minnesota!

But, how do you explain the drop in highway fatalities over the last 30 years?...

That may be true and it's a good thing that there has been a drop in fatalities in the last 30 years. But texting is relatively new. We all know people texting are writing a message to someone and looking at their phone/blackberry while doing so. They are not concentrating on driving. When you are going 70 mph and are looking down for a couple of seconds, well, thats enough to cross into the path of another car. MANY young and middle age people are texting daily while driving.

Maybe none of this is relative to this accident and condolences to the families involved today.

Great thinking Einstien, lets give the cops more authority to take our vehicles. Like you said, you don't know the circumstances, but you know what happened anyway. By the way, how do you see textmessaging, is your car really high off the ground?

he has a good point. texting and driving is stupid however an accident can happend while doing that or changing the raido station or checking on your child in the back seat. No matter what it was, I tell my daughter that i need to concentrate 100% of the time. driving is a priveledge, not a right. either way, the families are the victims. I used this incident as an opportuinity to teach my daughter. I think she gets the point of "mommy needs to concentrate while driving".

According to the State Patrol report, the pickup went thru the median and started rolling, and as it was rolling it hit the oncoming vehicle. They have only released the name of the passenger, which was a 20-year old male.

Please pray for the man and his son...this happens to be my former co-worker who was killed. He was a wonderful person and so proud of his son. Please keep his wife and family in prayer. This accident should have NEVER happened.
