if people wouldnt train these dogs to be so aggressive, maybe tragic things like this wouldn't happen. it is so sad and disgusting to think that little child's life was lost due to a dog.

I am family to the ones who owned the pitts an i assure u that they do not mistreat there animals in anyway. They are a very CHRISTIAN family an did not mean for this to happen. They have only had the dogs for a few months an had no idea that the dogs were in anyway aggressive. This is an very awful situtation an my heart goes out to the family of the boy an to my family as well. As i know that both are having a hard time.

A large majority of pitbulls are BORN aggressive as it's the nature of their breed. Thank God, the AKC (American Kennel Club) does not recognize the pit bull in their club and they never have.

Most of the low lifes who own them train them to be aggressive killers by chaining them up, fighting them, feed them gun powder, and countless other cruel ways to MAKE them meaner and more aggressive than when they were born.

ALL pit bulls should be either neutered or spayed NOW. No euthanasia would be needed and PETA and the SPCA wouldn't go crazy. Within a few short years, the pit bull breed of dog would vanish entirely and that would be the end of them (in a perfect world). If the owners don't comply, cart their butts off to prison and let them spend a few years there for breaking the law.(Let them meet a few 2-legged pitbulls and see how it feels!!!)

If your family just had these dogs a few months then they must have acquired them from someone else that raised them, because my understanding is that these dogs were not puppies.

Why would someone want two full grown pit bull dogs?

What does being CHRISTIAN have to do with anything? You don't think that CHRISTIANS can be negligent? People that are negligent still have to pay the piper and be held accountable.

My family are not the lowlifes as you say that feed their dogs gunpowder. An they got the dogs from another family member. They kept their dogs in the fence not out running around. An as far a getting rid of the pit breed well maybe we should do away with rotts, german sheperds, an chihuahuas
also. I have seen chihuahuas that would attack you only difference is they are not big enough to do to much damage.

In response to TSWRA's ignorant rant: Pit bulls do not have a higher degree of aggression than any other dog. They do have a higher degree of energy. but more people are bitten by labradors than pits every year. They also have the ability to do more physical damage than any other dog because of their unique physical structure. I personal know a dozen or so breeders of pits and none of them feed dogs gun powder or do any of the other nonsense you mentioned. Every year, Rottweilers kill people too, should we ban them as well. The dogs in this case were probably not raised around kids and would not react to a child like a dog that was used to them. You should find something else to babble about, you dont seem to know muxh about this topic.

CONCERNS & QUESTIONS FOR MS ARKANSAS
Your "so called" family has had these dog's for quiet sometime, and had "no idea" they were aggressive? Does a Rattle Snake have poison?
"They kept" the dog's enclosed"...Why is it the killer's were out & attacked this child while on his skate board in the street???
And by the way, according to "the owner's statement", "I just RAISE and BREED 'em to sell at Flea Markets an sich."
Perhaps you need to establish more communication with your family, as to their "extra profits" and family pets. And by the way...It's not "Pitt", it's "Pit".
You have a good day now...

Ms. Arkansas;
I only wish it had been chihuahua's...Perhaps while Justin was trying to fight the Dog's off with his Skate Board to save his life, he would still be with us.
A Chihuahua is NO comparison to a Pit Bull. At least not in Texas....

Do away with the pit bull breed for good. I was raised around this breed of dog & know exactly how they are. Regardless if the owner beat the dog or even mistreated the dog, they are a very dangerous breed. It is in their bloodline to kill and/or attack.

Even being around the pit bull species my entire life, you could still not pay me enough to EVER own one for myself. Yes, I know that all animals attack, but the pit bull is known for being very aggressive and even turning on their owners.
Thanks.

Oh, another thing. Pit bull's are much stronger than many other breeds of dogs. Have you ever seen a pit bull attack an animal? I'm guessing not. Well I have, and when they lock their jaw's on their prey.. theres no stopping them.
How many times a year do you hear about a dog attacking or killing a human? Alot.
& how many of those are pit bull victims? Nearly all of them.

And just for the record.. My family never once beat or mistreated our pit bulls in ANY WAY. Luckily we never had any problems from our dogs and they never showed any sign of aggression.
I still cannot bear the thought of raising one around my children. I do not trust that breed of dog AT ALL.

I agree there should be a stop to the pit breed. So many people get attacked by them each year. I hear of so many cases where the owner never abused the dog, they were raised good,...ect. but the dog still attacks.
How many people have you heard of passing away from a Chihuahua, Rot, or German Shepard attack not many. Even the German Shepards that work for the police, that are trained to attack don't kill people.

Let me "babble" just a little bit more on the subject since I don't seem to know much about the topic, okay?

It's a FACT that SOME irresponsible pitbull owners/breeders feed their breed of choice gun powder, ground up glass, and other assorted cruel things to make them more aggressive. An "aggressive" dog will fetch more money in SOME cases. I didn't say ALL in either sentence. What I just stated isn't "nonsense" either. Surf the Internet a while and you'll see that I'm correct.

There are poor genetics in ANY breed of dog. Pits just happen to get a negative nod MOST of the time based on their aggressiveness, vicious jaw power, and unpredictable behavior at times. Yes, other breeds have maimed and killed.

My whole "ignorant rant" was aimed at SOME of the owners whose life goal seems to revolve around having the "baddest of the bad dogs" and they include torture, brutal treatment and inhumane treatment by the "LOW LIFE" owner/breeder in the process. I hope there's a special place in hell for Michael Vick and anyone else like him.

I would venture to even say that the pit bull is simply a VICTIM of cruelty in a LOT of cases (NOT ALL!!!) and that breed of dog is doomed to be thought of as a "bad-ass dog." One more reason why MOST people don't want one.

I rest my case. And no, I'm NOT an attorney!!!

I to was raised around pit bulls even breeding them myself. We NEVER fed them gunpowder or anything to make them mean and i to stood up for the breed until my SWEET pit turned on me. Get rid of them all! Yes other dogs kill to but pits are built for killing and no matter how long you have one or how good you are to it the day will come when it SNAPS, I am very fortunate i was near my car when mine turned on me.

I agree...why have 2 pit bulls ? That doubles the chances of attacks for the careless owner. And this time it was on a poor defenseless 10 year old boy. He didn't have a chance with 2 dogs attacking him. If people are going to have these dogs they need to be held responsible for not keeping them locked up. Common sense, right ?

Why do people keep dangerous animals as pets?

That's just like having an unsecured loaded gun in the house - Something bad just waiting to happen.

NOW is the time to get your elected officials to act by contacting them, bombarding their offices with with letters and/or petitions, etc. to get the pit bull breed of dog BANNED. It takes a LOT of work and tenacity but other cities across the USA have succeeeded in getting it done. We can all talk about that breed forever but unless YOU are willing to put forth the effort of banning the breed, it's not going to happen. Petitions are being circulated NOW and lots of letters are being mailed out to city officials, state representatives, etc. Please help in the fight so other humans won't be maimed or killed by pit bulls in the future. And it WILL happen again to someone else if new laws aren't made.
