I would tell them "Not a cent will you get from me!" Sorry, but I am not going to pay them for making NATURAL fuels in my own home, whether or not I am using things that fall under the law as being taxable.
I've already paid my tax when I ate the food that the grease came from. I do NOT need 1 million dollars of liability insurance just in case I spill something. I do NOT need permission from any Air Resources Board to burn fat in the first place. I do NOT need a license to cart away fat from a eatery, unless I am going to be disposing of it in the usual way that it is disposed in.
These laws are TOTALLY overstepping their bounds, and it is time that people said that they are overstepping their bounds.
Time to REPEAL all of these stupid ass laws, or make exemptions in them for private citizens IMMEDIATELY.
Clunkiness in the system in system is NOT an excuse for harassing a private citizen.

No good fuel alternative goes unpunished
Dave Eck, a Half Moon Bay, Calif., mechanic, had attracted a media spotlight with his fleet of vehicles fueled by used fryer grease from a local chowder house.

I agree...taxes must be collected to maintain the roads. Those converted Hummers aren't exactly easy on the roads. Even with the tax, the homegrown fuels are much cheaper than gas. |

Since your saving gas money you should have to pay taxes. I don't want old cooking grease spilled everywhere. Suck it up.
