Review: Psychiatric Health Svc - Paul R Coplin MD

Beware. This doctor is one of the angriest, meanest and heartless doctors that I have ever met. Before going to him I did read an unfavorable review of his "bedside manner" and how little time he had spent with this one reviewers ' child . Since it was only one review I let my desperateness get to me and went to Dr Coplin . The second visit there I witnessed a lady leaving with her young son crying and saying that she had never ever been talked to like that by a doctor . The same visit I heard him screaming , yes screaming , at some one saying that "she should die in a ditch somewhere " and that he didnt want any more late night phone calls . Is this a doctor ? He is an older doc .. Perhaps time for him to retire before he causes injury or irreparable harm to one of his patients . I never have reported a doctor or even commented on one . Yet I feel this overwhelming need to do something about this doctor ... especially one who is in this field of psychiatry. A heart podiatrist perhaps , but not one where a patients emotions are already damaged , God be with those that choose this doctor or under some circumstance HAVE to go to him ... The Hippocratic Oath , The Ten Commandments ,human decency ,all disregarded by him .

I totally agree and I think we can report him to the proper authorities. He does not deserve a licence!! I guess we can find the address or phone number of who to report this awful thing of a doctor he portrays.
OH...we can call our insurance companies and file a complaint too--I sure with an official can come in as a patient and let this thing in the act of screaming------

I agree. He is mean and a liar. I don't think he can determine truth from fiction he tells so many lies.

that man is nuts!! I wonder if we all can call the right Medical authorities and let them send someone in as a patient and actually see the behavior!! He wouldn't be a doctor anymore.
Or all of us can tell our insurance companies not to cover his business anymore..
He is mean---My bipolar almost went off on him...he accused me of abusing medicaitons--he wanted to take me off my medications I said noway!! Stay AWAY!!

How about a mention in the Speak Out section of the local newspaper ? Or talking to another MD's Office to ask how to report a doctor ..or even the Better Business Bureau.. Someone has to do something about this man. Can anyone find any post graduate training on his part ? He isnt only mean , he's not up with the times in his own profession.

PS Taking anyone of of their meds abruptly can jeopardize the health of the patient , esp the type of meds associated with his profession. Let us all find a new doc and let him know why, Good luck and God bless to all.

The better business bureau would a great idea. He is a preferred physician in Tricare and blue cross blue shield. I would travel to macon, forsyth but I wouldn't see him NO Chance!!
He needs to have his license revoked like NOW!
You know there is a Psychiatrist Association and maybe they need to know.

He makes things up to see how you react. He loves to play mind games. Has anyone checked his credentials to see if he is really an MD?

I don't know if that quack has the right credentials but I plan to check it out.

I am not from rydal, ga either..I keep changing the location but it keeps going back to the rydal..anyone know any way to change it for good?

First time I smiled reading a post from this site pattie p. I am not from the city that it says on the post either . And like you dont know how to change it or how it got that way .
My server is Windstream and it always wants to give me Fitzgerald's weather , also not my city . I always have to correct that. As mean as that doctor is he is most likely vindictive , too , so maybe it' s a good protection for us to have the wrong city listed.

now I am from pelham, ga! ha ha ..understand about the windstream thing. you can put the zip code then hit save..I am sure you may have already tried this ..it is aggravating.
this p-doc needs to be put away himself. I have never seen so much anger in my life..

I've been to him and he is horrible. He doesnt give a crap about his patients. He would just look at me and say "well you look good, you must be doing good." R u freekin serious? And I would tell him about how bad I was feeling and he would just act like he didnt hear me and prescribe me the same thing with the same dose everytime. I even brought my parents and husband in for a sit down visit to let him know how serious my condition was and he just ignored them completely and acted like he couldnt even give a crap. He just sat there and said "uh huh, uh huh." So rude and disrespectful. I cannot believe they would let a man like that practice medicine. Its appalling really. DO NOT GO TO THIS MAN!!! He'll make u feel worse about yourself on top of already feeling bad. HORRIBLE......!!

Good to see I'm not the only one who found this man completely horrible. Two visits were quite enough. My first time there Coplin had me sit with the therapist (whom I was not there to see at all, and coincidentally, I spent more time with than Coplin himself), before being shuffled off to give information to his intern (and once again I spent more time with this guy than Coplin). He sat with me for two minutes, tops, and wrote my prescription. I'm a new patient, and this guy didn't ask me one piece of information about myself. The next time I came in, once again a session that topped out at around two minutes in which he told me I "looked much better". I silently wondered how the hell he'd know after spending so little time with me.

These posts kept a dear friend of mine from going to see this person. I want to thank everyone who has spoken out, but also to make a recommendation. I check almost every doctor out before going to them, but this it the first time I have been to this site. There are several other doctor review sites and it would help a great deal if some would post some infomation on those sites as well. Thank you all again and I hope you find a caring doctor that you can trust in.
