Freaking work for it, till YOUR backs break, your feet ache off your body as soon as they touch the floor, your eyeballs feel ready to fall out of your head, just to pay the bills, and feed the mouths that need fed.
What goes around, comes around.
Wah, should've "built" with in your means.

Sounds like he'd make a great state rep or senator. Take the money, screw the people. Slap a "D" on after his name and he's in.

You just can't wake up one day and decide to put up a home of any sort. What permits were pulled? Who did the inspections?? Is a modular home given a CO?

There's more to this little tale...

I am not quite sure what this comment means. It appears the lady built within her means and the builder took her money. She had to pay someone else to finish the job. People take advantage of hardworking people all the time. People can try to "check out" builders and get references, but you never know who is telling the truth. You have been very fortunate not to have had a run in with a guy like this builder.

Sounds like they all need attitude adjustments, as well as REALITY checks.
Good enough for all of them, maybe they'll all get a clue now.

I blame the building inspector of Chester because he is to inspect this home after it is put on the foundation. And should have stop the job and order the builder to fix the problem, And if the builder did not fix the problem the building inspector should have him arrested. I am a contractor and I have call the state to let them know that they have people that is doing work with out license and they tell me that they can not do any thing about it. They don t have the man power .

Sometimes it's simply, reaping what is sown.. sow and cultivate unwisely, a bunch of doneky manure is all anyone might end up with, all the way around.
Sorry, but disgust outweighs anything else now after reading this...and really wish it hadn't been up for the read.

How old are these people, and what were they all thinking (NOT).

Good luck, once again, to the CT court systems.

The owner of the home needs to file suit against the Building Official. According to Connecticut Supreme Court ruling, sovereign immunity no longer applies to Building Officials. Make the Building Officials accountable - then they'll do their jobs and get shady contractors to do theirs or get shut down by fining them enough.

ANOTHER SHELLY URBAN SCAM wrote:
please note the following corrections to this article: Ms. Urban has a long history of scamming......she involved the media, some 10 years ago, to pressure the State of CT to pay her for "emotional harm' and the like. She has been living in her home for over 1 year. She appears to fit the description of a sociopath. I'm guessing she may be taking more than her fair share of medications, those that are perscribed to her patients....she is a nurse....scary.

While it sounds like you have had personal experience with this lady and obviously enjoy putting her down, don't you find it odd that there are 11 families who have filed complaints with the State Of Connecticut against Bowden. All those complaints are almost exactly the same? His negligence, intentional or not, put many families in serious danger. The state doesn't just waste their time on these things. There has to be a basis and evidence. Look deeper for the truth.

Have my own private patch of primrose seeds to nibble on.
I am sure the State will look deeper, and see things for what they are, and judge accordingly.
