A good job!!!!!Are you all kidding here!? assault for throwing a fork at her brother! And the other vandalism!?-- Parole fore these crimes are hilariously extreme! A raid on kids and all they found was a couple of hats! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA It looks like a bunch of kids that need a a spanking and some counseling, sports and toughlove NOT parole! it looks like the system is creating more ciminals! We need more resources for our youth Not more crap!

Fantastic work by law enforcement. You never know what will be found on these parolee sweeps. Oh, and "john" ~ not all parolee sweeps are for 'kids'. And 'kids' that are on parole are probably beyond spanking. Counseling and tough-love can be helpful, yes, but these operations by law enforcement agencies are not 'more crap'. It's part of protecting and serving the public, including you.

No pleasing some people, is there? "Damned if you do, and damned if you don't." There is the possibility that a condition of these moron's parole is no gang affiliation (hence, the hats, which would indicate still gang ties); also, no drug paraphenelia (indicates drug use, thus violating terms of probabtion/parole); BB guns? Gee, how many crimes are committed by using a BB gun in place a real weapon? Hard to tell the difference when the orange portions are painted over, or one is being pointed in your face. And a BB gun can do serious injury to a person, if you think about it. Why else would it be considered ADW? Does it really matter what the female is on parole for?(throwing a fork at her brother). Her brother may have been a minor, or she was already on probation for something else (willing to bet this isn't her first offense). The bottom line is she is ON parole, and should not violate it-PERIOD. Sad that she has an infant as well. The REALLY sad part is the cops waste their lives and time having to protect people such as yourself, who want to mock, second-guess them and whine about how "my tax dollars are spent". Cops pay taxes, too. How many parolees do you think do?

Most of us law abiding citizens are not laughing! They did an awesome job. There is a reason the losers are put on parole.

First of all Daniel Valenzuela is not gang affiliated for having an LA Dodger Hat in his possession. If this was true then all of LA County would be gang affiliated. It is not fair for him to be 22 years old with a Dodger Hat and be called a Gang Member just because most of the gang members the police arrested have dodger hats in their houses. Second of all Kandis Hunnicutt is not on parole, she is soley on probation.

Seems to me these are the people(parolees) that took up valuable space in our public education system. I would rather see my tax money educate an illegal person who has hopes and desires to better him/herself in this country than to an American born into another gangbanging generation. Hats off to the men and women in law enforcement!

They should do this more often. I believe the report read that they confiscated 2 guns and 1 shotgun. Well that is at least one less thug running the streets killing an innocent victim. People and family members of these people on Probation/Parole need to stop making up so many excuses for these low life scums. There are so many that belong to gangs and the family is always in denial or supposedly the last to know. Go figure!

i understand the Probation officers job is to go in and do random sweeps on their parolees; however i dont agree with the way things were worded in this paper. The writer with is slick tounge trying to make these young kids sound even worse than they are.... you should have also mentioned that some of the house you swept were these so called PAROLEES reside, were only days away from having all charged cleared and sealed. Why would anybody with any since puts these people in even more harms way? It is one thing to exagerate the truth in the paper, but once you start putting the street name of where they live and to top it off a picture of their week old child in the paper you are crossing the line. Then taking away hats from people that have an LA decal! NOw thats ridiculos, so now you're saying the whole LA county is gang affiliated. These young adults are taking care of their mistakes from their past, just about to have it put behind them and there you go putting them all in the newspaper. I thought that when you give people authority they were supposed to have some common sense.

So i read the article that was online and the one printed in our paper which people read throughout the SGV. These journalists are paid to write stories containing the truth; however they also went to school to learn how to word a story a different way to make us the readers open our eyes wider and read the paper faster because we want to know all of this juicy gossip. I personally know Kandis Hunnicutt and first of all it's probation that she is on not Parole. Then the paper failed to mention how she is only days away from having her case sealed. This is ridiculous the paper gets more readers when they put the negative in the paper, people just dont want to hear about someone saving a cat from a tree anymore. They want to hear that an 18 year old girl with a week old baby is on parole and had gang crap in her home... That absolutly ridiculous! That so called Gang Apparel...were her cousins LA hats! Wow, hold on lets go ahead and start shutting down all the sports stores because LA lakers and Dodgers are Gang affiliated. For all of you people that had negative things to say. You were probably sheltered as a child. Kandis was a straight A student and in after school activities. It was just unfortunate that her and her brother got into a fight that day...how many times have me and my brother fought and made up 5 minutes later...which was also the case with Kandis.

Well if Kandis H. is days away from having her case being sealed, good for her that she was able to stay out of trouble. We are all faced with temptation everyday and have to always remember that whatever bad or illegal thing we do in life there will be CONSEQUENCES!! Yes, there are always those good kids or people that did one illegal thing, but for that you take a risk of being haunted for the rest of your life. That is society and the way life is. Another way that you can look at it is that she should of not been bothered by this if she had nothing to hide. That shows that she has been rehabilitated and that is why they are put on probation/parole. Sometimes we think we know people or neighbors or even our own kids and in reality they are totally different around the people they associate with. We all want to believe our kids are little angels!!!

First of all, some of you need to stop pretending that gang members don't use LA sport teams gear. I have seen gang members and the idiots who associate with them and aspire to be them wearing:

Dodger gear, Raider stuff, even Kings crap.

So stop with the nonsense. What are you going to say next?

- quoting with dumb-girl accent -

"Oh my god, how stoooooopid. You're not a gang member just because you have a shaved head, and wear wife-beaters and carry beer in public! How stoooooooopid eh?"

Like Sammy Davis Jr. used to sing, if you can't do the time don't do the crime.

Once again the country with the MOST incarcerated population in the world ( 1 per 100)is chasing "serious" criminals. What a joke! Don't you LOVE you tax dollars paying for prisons rather then schools? I HATE the way this newspaper sensationalizes misery. And thank you Tribune for firing reporter Marienne Love!

I think the police were also taking care of their business. Usually the people that have problems with these raids are the ones being targeted.
