Edmond parks consider banning smoking

If they're really all that concerned about the kids health then candybars, pop, cookies and fast food should be banned too.

Those are choices that can be made by parents. Parents can not make a choice about second hand smoke when other people are smoking in a play area. That had nothing to do with this issue.

this is ridiculas. I remember when smokers had rights. lets go ahead and shut down all the tobacco companys lets see how that works out. smoker or not you should think about giving all your rights away.

Just like how Idiots with tattoos think they are being discriminated against because they were stupid when they were younger.

I don't think you should be able to ban smoking out doors. You should be able to have designated area with a big out door ashtry, if you don't want butts on the ground,but not ban totally. That is kind of discrimination and people just won't visit your area!

You can put butt cans all around and those disgusting smokers will still not use them. They are still too lazy to walk over to them, put out their cigarette and drop it in. And why would they when it is so much easier to just flick it somewhere. Smokers are disgusting pigs

EEW has it exactly right. Smokers - why do you think you have some God-given right to toss your cancer sticks everywhere you go?

Are you too lazy or stupid to dispose of them properly? I guess it is probably both.

I rarely, if ever, see a smoker put their cancer sticks in an ashtray.

We have a designated smoking area at work with 3 butt cans. Here is what happens... They use the butt cans for trash cans (empty cigarette packs, soda bottles, etc.) and still litter the area with butts. Then you have that one person who actually uses the butt can for their cigarette butt but doesnt put it out first and what happens when you add lit cigarette to trash??? Thats right, you all you non smokers guessed it! Fire! Smokers are morons!

There are even signs on and around the butt cans that say "Butts only, no trash" and they still cant get it right. My employer is talking about taking the smoking area away and smokers will have to go off property to smoke. I hope they do it.

Here's a nice trick. Stand near a smoker when u know they are almost finished. Bring along a piece of garbage (empty pop-can, candy wrapper, etc) When you see them toss their cancer stick on the ground, reach into your pocket and toss the wrapper (or pop-can) on the ground. If the smoker protests your littering, you ask him "what is the difference between that and your cancer stick?"

Here's another good idea... when they flick their cigarette... go rub their nose in it like when a dog pee's on the carpet.

Well if they ban cigarettes because of second hand smoke, mess etc....I say they should ban all perfumes/colognes because some people (men and women) wear soooo much perfume or cologne that it would choke a horse and looong after they are gone, the frickin smell lingers-gets in your hair,clothes, throat....!
