Used to be $25 for first offense. It won't affect ur insurance if u pay it b4 court date, unless it has changed in the past few years. Been a long time since I got a ticket for no seatbelt.

Are you an idiot or what???? Yes, law enforcement is there to tell you what to do to protect laws. It is a law to wear your seatbelt if you havent figured it out yet! Dont break the law and they wont ticket you! Now buckle up and have a great day! Oh and by the way, if you were driving drunk, do you think they shouldnt stop you because it is a free country??? go figure!!!!

It should be my decision if I want to wear my seatbelt. I have talked to medical personnel that said they have seen instances in wrecks where if someone had been wearing their seatbelts they would have lived and instances where if they had not been wearing their seatbelts they would have lived. I heard on the news just the other night that statics show that 49% of people died wearing seatbelts and 51% lived wearing seatbelts. So IT SHOULD BE MY CHOICE. This country is becoming more and more a communist country. What hapened to the home of the free.

If you don't like it don't drive. If you don't drive you won't have to obey the traffic laws of this great state. And driving is a privledge not a right!!

I am a first responder/fireman and if I'm an idiot so be it and we might just see how much of an idiot I am if I ever have to help u out... And yes I agree with Lynn I have seen many of wrecks were a seatbelt has trapped someone in to drown or other things... I am the only one who is responsible for my well being if I were to have a wreck and if the good lords a willing I will be fine if not it was my time

Sure, some wrecks are going to leave folks trapped in their belts and some of them might die.

It is much more common for folks to walk away from wrecks if they're strapped in the vehicle than not.

I'll take my chances strapped inside rather than bouncing around inside or even worse getting tossed out only to get smacked by my own vehicle as it chases after me.

Not making use of available safety equipment is just thinning out the herd.

Anyone stupid enough to not wear a seatbelt after the news and papers advertised that it is a Click it or Ticket campaign this week deserves a ticket. Hell far, you got cops on tv saying we will write you a ticket this week for seatbelt and DUI. And then you get out and do it anyway. HOW DUMB

you can do what you want, as long as it falls within the scope of the law. Laws are there not only to protect the rights of individuals, but the individuals themselves in many instances. I'm not going to tell you what to do, I just wish you'd understand that the laws like this are there for our well being, just like laws against drunk driving, murder, assault and battery, etc. Without law is chaos. If cars were still made to withstand nuclear war like they were in the sixties and seventies (clearly and exaggeration), then we might not rely so heavily on seatbelts, but since cars are built like toys now, more plastic than metal, we need to take some precautions for the safety of the driver's and passengers.
