Basically my story is the same as everyone else.- I young person came to my door selling magazines on December 20th 2010.
- I selected a 2yr subscription and was told to wait 90 - 120 days before delivery.
- I wrote a personal check that was cashed within days.
- 30 days later the site updated the status of my order saying that it had been submitted to the Publisher (1/31/11).
- After the required 120 days I had not received any word from the company via the website, phone call, or email after multiple attempts for a status update.
- I filed a complaint with the BBB on 4/12/11, I have copied the action items from my case at the end of this post.
- On 5/5/11 I called the Magazine directly and was told that an order had been placed for me and should arrive within the month.
- On 5/13/11 I received one issue of the magazine requested, but several weeks past the 120 day waiting period listed on the back of the white and orange sales receipt.
I did file a complaint with the BBB before discovering this site. They followed up with the company, but was unable to reach them, see the details of my claim below:

In all, I am not happy with the way that this had been handled. I am not sure that I would have received anything if I hadn't reached out to the BBB and filed a complaint. I most certainly will not do business with this company again, and will never buy from high pressure solicitors in the future.

Hey my name is Chris, Im from Columbus Ohio and I used to work for dss. I worked there in 2009 after responding to a "fun in the sun" ad. I called and Chase agreed to get me a greyhound ticket to Wilmington,Delware. Chase gave me 20 bucks and i went back to the room and went to sleep..I met all the kids later that night and i immediately thought almost all of them had some kind of drug problem (I smoke weed sometimes but Im talking major drug problems). I noticed that most of the kids there were treating this like they were in some kind of cult and Chase Wood was some kind of magical saint who could do no wrong. I worked there for about 3 weeks...I hated everything about the job but I loved traveling and seeing new parts of the country.(NJ,DE,MD,NY,PA) I sucked at the job, I hated the fake people. I was getting 3 sales a day. Morgan(Chase's ho) and Dave (former con) was getting 20+ sales a day. It didnt make since to me considering Morgan usually worked 1/3 of the day.
This is the part where my story gets intresting.
We moved our location to Long Island, New York, to probably the most run down hotel you have ever seen. We were there for about 3 days until I got sick, and I mean really sick. This was around the time of the swine flu break out in NYC. My last day there before I went out I was coughing my head off and dry heaving. I still had to go out though, I asked Tim if I could stay in cause I dont think I could go out...he laughed and said no. I went out (forgot to mention it was snowing) to what was by far the worst day of my life. I was weak by the time our 12 hour shift in the cold ended.Russel was in town that week also. We go back to the office room and I get called up to get my money...I got yelled at for not making any sales..after a 5 minute talk I got up and ran to the bathroom and threw up for prob 10 minutes while everyone is in the room laughing...I go back out to get my money and go back to the room. I had already made my mind up that i was going home the next morning.
I wake up and I go tell Tim that i wanted to go home...He looked at me in disgust and called me a quiter and a bunch of other names...I go to tell chase and it looked like he was going to kill me...I got locked out of my room and i had to sit outside (in the cold, while I had the flu) for 5 hours until he took me to the greyhound.
NEVER WORK FOR THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE A SCAM

Wow I also worked for this company, summer of 2009, I greyhounded with a friend who also got hired from pa to Syracuse, ny. I was greeted the same way as everyone else and also talked to Morgan chases girl. The first night I was there I was greeted by a room full of guys all asking me to get high. At first it seemed all fun then I went to shower after a long bus ride, as I showered Chase came into the room with girls I stayed with literally opened the bathroom door and was talking to me through the curtain. The next morning I woke up to do my first day I was put in the carload drop with about 12 guys and for the first few days I had fun training with some good talking kid named Alex..he was actually decent. But Steve, Dave (who had a girlfriend), Tim were trying to get in my pants. After few days of training, I was put on my own to sell, the guys always had me in there blue suv, which made me feel in comfy. I sold a few magazines but nothing too much. Is always get yelled at every night when we had meetings. I also remember mornings wed go out and practice there sppeches. I felt like they were trying to brainwashed me. So I sold a magazine the one day to a cute kid in a richy neighborhood. He for my name and added me on Facebook. A few days later the only kid I liked cus he was a real nice kid named josh a redhead said he was quitting, so as he did, my friend that came with and I did as well. I just felt like I were in a cult. Aw all got chewed out and called pathetic and so many other names. We waited for Chase to get us for Luke four hrs, as he dropped us off at the station in buffalo he threw our shit on the ground and said its a shitty part in town and we better watch ourselves. Our tickets weren't for that day but like mid night the next day. So we took bascially all the money we made and got an earlier ticket out of not wanting to get jumped from the crew or spending all night there. I couldn't wait to get home. And the kid I sold a magazine to told me he never recieved a magazine. They are totally scam artists, I also remember kids getting arrested for solicitating...and spending nights in prison. People I remember, girl named Valerie, some Stephen who looked like dog the bounty hunters wife, and the people above. They are scams and shitty people with turd jus trying to get laid. I'd like to talk to other people with experiences so my email is firstname.lastname@example.org

Update! So it has been a bit over five months since I received posted on this board. I am still receiving issues from original subscription. Also, I moved and was able to change the address with the magazine publisher without any problems. Maybe things work out once you start receiving the magazines. I will post again in a year and let you know if that is still the case.

While this has been very informative, my boyfriend and I unfortunately met Dave today and he made off with 40$ of ours..... Immediatly after he left, I googled it and found all of this and then faxed a cancellation to the number given. Will I get my money back and what can I do? I have already spoken with local police so any more information on "Dave" and the crew would be helpful. These people are sick.

I too have been duped-but I have contacted the BBB, my city and the Treasury Dept to report the fraud. Unfortunately if any peppy young person pops to my door-it will be slammed in their face.

I filed a claim with the BBB as well and this company has yet to respond to them yet. We will see. Their window is growing short.

My daughter spoke to a Russell Wood over the phone, He immediately told her he would pay for a bus ticket, give her money for advance pay, board and transportation. But, she had to leave the next morning. I let her know it was some type of scam or worse, Which is why I found this site. The number she contacted him with is...1-877-222-5976. Good Luck

I'm in on a class action lawsuit if we are really going to do this. It's about time!
I was just scammed by them in the beginning of April, I paid $41 for a "humpty Dumpty" children's magazine subscription, from the magazines actual site it's only $12!
Right after I wrote the check and the kid left I told my husband to call the bank and cancel the check. Unfortunately, my husband had to leave a message and then forgot about it, so were were debited the $41.
I'm so mad at this company for ripping unsuspecting people off and even more so because they pray on troubled teens to do their dirty work while they treat them like crap.
I did tell the kid that came to research the company he was working for and he obviously though I was crazy. They pray on the troubled and uneducated adolescents. So wrong.
My email is prissychick4jayzATaolDOTcom, I get a ton of spam at this email so please put something relevant in the subject line.
