Mayor pushes for proposed toll road to pass through Gunter

The mayor of Gunter wants the proposed Dallas Tollway to pass through his town. Mayor Mark Millar says the roadway could open near the Dorchester water tower in Gunter, but right now he says Collin and Denton county leaders are proposing other alignments that would create a different route for the toll road.

So, the mayor wants a town that will be another Frisco. The whole reason people come to Gunter is to get away from that nonsense. 289 extending to North Texas Regional Airport will create plenty of growth on it's own. Being a small town is not always a bad thing.

people opposing the toll road are living in a box. the old timers have an argument. it has been a known fact since the 1980's that the DNT would extend eventually to US 82 in grayson county. did you know people are fighting like hell to bring an INTERNATIONAL to land just west of sherman ? if you want peace and quiet, drive about 600 miles west. there you can really live one with the earth.

There are no plans for an international airport near Sherman. You must be talking about the North Texas Regional Airport in Denison. Not much need for another international airport near DFW. Just remember when people flee the path of urban growth, they may all move next to you.

Take a note from your neighbors in small town Melissa who decided to take a stand and get over 50 percent of voters to the polls. They had decided early on that the were ousting the Mayor David Dorman from office. ot taking no for an answer, they got there way. Freeing the town from evil that seem to lurk about. Good job Melissa citizens. Sing praise to Godly people. They stopped the liquor vote too. Awesome job. A few towns being run over need to take the same steps.
