Ocean Springs Lumber

Can someone tell me if Ocean Springs Lumber is a good place to do business. I have recently gone in and found the staff rude.

I would reccomend doing business with OS Lumber. They remainded open after the storm and are commited to offering residents what they need to rebuild or even advise on a do-it-yourself project. Try them again, I suspect that the "rudeness" was a one time thing, or some kind of misunderstanding. The staff has always been very helpful and friendly to me for many years.

Ocean Springs Lumber is great if you need a paint brush or a door stop. If you are building a house Bailey Lumber or Hometown would be better.

Thanks osbuilder. Went to Bailey and found a much kinder and smarter staff. They are going over my house plans and will be getting back to me in about three days.

Stay away from OS Lumber. They know very little about construction. They did a bad take-off on my plans and it really messed me up.

I live in Ocean Springs. Not sure why it says Magee. I tried Ocean Springs Lumber a second time and it still sucks. Do you work there? I think you do.

You still have a set of my house plans. Only been waiting a few months. My number is on them.

When the new Lowe's in Gautier opens it's doors OS Lumber's going to be in TROUBLE because Lowe's knows.

Although I'm not sure exactly what it is they know.

I need a licensed contractor to remodel a house in Ocean Springs. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I can tell you they don't stand behind errors they make. I recently bought 15 semi custom doors (interior) had them come out and measure and then ordered what they identified. There was one door that we had to correct. We spoke to person doing the measuring and he told the ordering person "he was pretty sure that the change" was right.

Well sure enough it wasn't. I ended up paying for an extra 36 inch door and have a useless 32 inch door sitting in my garage.

What really irkes me is I have spent well over $25,000 there on my house and I was treated this poorly.

OS lumber is not a good place to shop, unless you like high prices and lack of selection. Stick with the big stores if you want all around good service. Katrina helped OS Lumber survive because people had no other choice but to go, but now we do, and its bad management will bury it.
