I dont like war but we cant ignore Sept 11 happened. Look at what happened in Texas. People that was another act of terrorism. The guy never fought in a war before just went crazy I dont think so. He went into our military to hurt other Americans. Many of my friends are soldiers over in Iraq. I think Bush made mistakes but we are being attacked by radicals. This is still our country and many have died for our cause. I hope Obama starts to listen to all not just the liberals.

Ellie: People can discuss with me. Absolutely. Its when others fling insults that I get a tad annoyed. We had one poster here, as you can read back, whos whole purpose was to insult new comers and carry on private wars against them. Same person who "rates" all the posts of others as nasty, mean, etc. However, they rate their own posts favorably. Whats with that?
As far as Obama goes, I do not believe he is going to make everything better. I just think he was a better choice for the people of the U.S.A. compared to McCain (remember he was quoted as saying "bomb bomb bomb Iran" sung to the tune of "help me rhonda".
Obama, I feel, is a man of peace and wants world understanding instead of the U.S.A being the big bad boss of the world, which is why this country is so hated by the rest of the world.
Yes, I have been to V.A. Hospitals. My father uses them.
He is a Korean War vet, bronze star, the whole thing. Yes, I agree, the feds pay for the schooling of these doctors and they are then contracted with the VA for certain periods of time to pay back the education. I have always found the Primary Care Physicains to be on top of their game. Just as good as any other doctor. I cant comment on the surgical abilities of the more advanced doctors, but I have never seen a problem with care.
There still will be private insurance companies. They will just have to be more receptive to pre existing conditions, not have the ability to toss a customer once they develop cancer or other huge problems, and their rates would be under more control. I was quoted $875.00 a month with a 5,000 deductible and a max life time cap of $50,000.00. Yeah, that should get me right through that kidney transplant! My eye. Since private insurance is not working for MOST Americans, something needs to change and who is going to change it if not the government?
I looked back at my posts and do not see any instances were I made a insulting remark to you. Please point it out. Maybe you took something out of context, but I would not fling an insult unless the other party insulted me first. If I did, point it out and let me read it so I can take the opportunity to stand by my statement or apologize for it.
As for my attitude, Im southern. I speak what is on my mind. So what you see is what you get. However, I am a humanitarian.
Very involved with certain grops who are being persecuted for their beliefs.
9/11 was an act of terrorism against the policies of this country.
We turned around and attacked Iraq who had nothing to do with it.
The "weapons of mass destruction" reason was deemed FALSE.
Human rights violations? Sure. So does china, saudi arabia, and many other countries yet you dont see us bombing them, do you?
No, we pick on the small weak ones. Always. Why didnt we bomb China for executing civilians? Why dont we bomb Saudi Arabia for not giving rights to women? Because, they had control over the governments decisions. Read O I L.
Please tell me what points I make are far fetched.

For those of you who still believe Obama and the rest of the Liberals when they are trying to make you belive they are trying to fix the country, learn from the following:
* The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775,"the government had 234 years to get it right" and it is broke.
*Social Security was established in 1935,"the government had 74 years to get it right" and it is broke.
*Fannie Mae was established in 1938," the government had 71 years to get it right" and it is broke.
*The War On Poverty started in 1964,"the government had 45 years to get it right" $1 trillion of our moniey is confiscated each year and transferred to the poor and they only want more.
*Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965,"the government had 44 years to get it right" and they are broke.
*Freddie Mac was established in 1970,"the government had 39 years to get it right" and it is broke.
*The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil, it has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before," the government had 32 years to get it right" and it is an abysmal failure.
The government has failed in every "government service" it has shoved down our throats while overspending our tax dollars and "YOU" want us to believe the government can be trusted with a government run health care system??!!
This is designed to make us all dependent on the government and will take away all prosperity and hope for our future and the future of our children and their children.

You stated, "911 was an act of terrorism against the policies of this country." The people in the Twin Towers were not policies, they were americans, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, firefighters, policemen.... they were all of us. Yet you state it was against policy. Again you show the ignorance of even recent history, even with why we went to war with Iraq.

* The U.S. Postal Service........
The postal service is broke for several reasons.
Mainly the benefits it pays to retirees and active service personnell. In 1775 there was no competition. No UPS, no Fed ex, no email, no private
mail companies. They had a monopoly. The unions secured undeniable and very expensive benefits early in the 20th century. You can't sell a stamp for 42 cents and pay the guy selling it to you $20 an hour plus benefits.
*Social Security was established in 1935,......
People are living longer. In 1935 if you made it to 65 you were lucky. For the amount of money that was put in by those people from 1935-1970, who lived and still live , it was peanuts, pennies on the hundred dollars, and they retired and get back a huge sum of money in return. Its a ponzi scheme.
*Fannie Mae was established in 1938," .....
And the executives of this outfit had 45 years to rob and loot the funds. Check your history.
*The War On Poverty started in 1964,".......
Right. Laws were enacted to keep certain segments of society quiet and prevent riots and out right civil war. The people who benefited from those programs learned to depend on them for generations and are passing it on till this day.
*Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965,"the government had 44 years to get it right" and they are broke.
Fraud. Greed. The people who are benefiting from most of medicare never paid a dime into it. Not a dime. Now they pay $35 a month. They cost the government billions.
*Freddie Mac was established in 1970,"the government had 39 years to get it right" and it is broke.
Same story as Fannie Mae.
*The Department of Energy was created in 1977
Correct. And who's pockets got lined? BUSH. KENNEDY. ROCKEFELLER. GETTY. Do you understand that there a millions more cars on the road than there was in 1977? Millions more homes to heat?
Millions of more buildings? Thousands of more uses for the oil such as plastics, materials of all sorts.
Why did the government crush all attempts to get us into other engery sources for decades? Because the big boys would loose their shirts. That's why.
The government has failed in every "government service" it has shoved down our throats while overspending our tax dollars and "YOU" want us to believe the government can be trusted with a government run health care system??!!
You trust your government with your life every day.
You use your government's dollar bill to live.
If you do not trust your government, then you are a traitor. You have told the world in your tirade that the U.S. Government should be abolished and replaced with a different system of government, yet when it is guessed that Obama wants to do that, you scream. When Obama wants "CHANGE" from all the problems you describe you scream.
We are all dependent on government or we'd all be dead. Either taken over by other countries or poisoned by our food supply with out control. Pharmacutical companies selling drugs that have a 50/50 chance of killing you. You'd have chaos in the streets with no police. You'd have no water to drink since no government services make it available to you. You'd not be able to buy anything because there would be no price controls. There would be no control over wages so jobs would go to those who would accept the least amount to do anything and everything that needs to be done.

Just because you dont trust what the government is doing does not make you a traitor. God gave us a brain to question things. I think the American people need to speak up for the right causes to make this a better nation. We are talking about the government not running Healthcare. We as Americans should have a choice. That is the point I am trying to make.

Yes, Americans should have a choice. The problem with the healthcare system is a great amount of people have no choice. They call Blue Cross/Blue Shield for a quote. "Oh, you are diabetic?- We won't cover you at any price". "Oh, high blood pressure?- We won't cover you at any price".
Overweight?- We won't cover you at any price".

Since there are millions of people with the above referenced conditions in the age bracket of say 21-64 what do those people do about health insurance to cover other problems or the problems that can and do develop from these common conditions?

That is what Obama is trying to bring forth. A health care system where the private insurers can't deny people because of pre existing conditions. Can't drop you when your doctor calls them about needing authorization for cancer treatment.

You and the right wing are worried that YOU are going to loose something. You aren't going to loose a thing, but millions of your fellow Americans may be able to provide health care to themselves.

Government health care is not a new idea. It's been brought up many times over the past 75 years.

Oh, your lenghtly post about all of the government problems: Good cut and paste. Too bad you don't have original ideas but mimic what the pundits say.

What a joke.

See what I mean? Gravy train. Get married and the train stops running.$600 a month, x 12 months =$7,200.00 x 18 years =$129,600.00. PER CHILD. How many have 3, 4, 5? Multiply the 129,600 times 3, 4 or 5 and you get some big numbers where the government is supporting people because the LAW says so.
That's only the Ss
Lovely. Just lovely.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Pisces

Someone is in a very boisterous mood today, and you may want to make yourself scarce after a short spell in their company. Their idea of a joke may be your idea of extreme rudeness, or they could take pleasure in being argumentative just for the sake of it. Don't let this person wind you up or you'll go off pop through sheer tension.
