I feel that these girls were led by the older gentleman and were all on drugs. I mean think about it, most girls involved with prositution were eother abused, on drugs or both. I know this fact because I used to prostitue myself for drugs in order to support my habbit, also i was a victim of sexual abuse as a child of 7 years old later without counseling and help I became a product of a hard life on the streets of New Haven for years. I feel the 47 year old man should be held accountable as well as the girls. Yet the girls involved should get help with a lesser sentence while they still have a chance to have a normal life. I feel this event and the publicity can alter thier future if not handled appropriately.

The man who was 47 should of known better I do not hear about him being judged. Another fact FYI I know both girls who were consenting and the 23 year old showed no signs of not knowing right from wrong when she took drugs with all parties concerned. So in short we are dealing with three people caught in the grips of addiction not a moral dilemma or someone taking advantage of anyone involved. So lets get everyone in a program, get them counseling(especially) the two young ladies involved and STOP PASSING JUDGEMENT. If christ can forgive all sins why cant we, REMEMBER Mary Maglin the prostitute he forgave for her sins

As a young teen I can assure you all that we all have mistakes. A child, teen, and or adault makes mistakes everyday we don't look at the important things in life so why can't everyone STOP and THINK for two seconds just get these people help that they need and there will be no judgement needed. If we are married, in a relationship, or single and flirting we still show all the signs of prostitution. I wish people today will look at things that are more important. People die everyday and the family is sad but they move on so why can't we just move on with our lives and STOP all this. We have no reason to look at other people and judge. and this is because if I look at everyone who has posted a comment I will find one thing in their past that they have done wrong. We are NOT perfect, anyone of us. We are just humans, and for everyones info i grew up with the 16 year old and she has been through a lot so this could have been one reason and also the 23 year old i know her to, she is a sweet girl but she knows right from wrong I can tell you that much. Money for sex illegal?!?! Then why do we have alimony?????!!! Either way, someone is going to pay. Why not regulate it and make sure those involved are licensed, clean, and taxed. What a great way for the government to make more money that it can waste.

Hi, just curious how women would be safer if prostitution were legalized. Reports and studies indicate countries that have legalized prostitution have not overcome the violence and corruption of the trade. Women will always face forced prostitution, even if legalized.

If I may so respectfully correct you, Mary Magdalene was NOT a prostitute. That is a misguided story the Catholic Church did nothing to refute. If you read your bible you will know she was the woman from whom 7 demons were driven out of(Luke 8:2-3), and then traveled with Jesus as he preached. She is then spoken of as Jesus' disciple whom he loved most.

I LOVE Craigslist...I think its genius for every aspect of it. I don't "use" the personals section (though I have looked at it, who wouldn't, were all curious), but hey there are some people in this world that so and that makes them happy (referring to the consenting adults and no one else of course). If people are concerned about the under agers that are there - watch your darn kids and they wouldn't be doing that stuff!

In short, I have used it for business, the sale section and found an apartment on there that I love. In my experience, the type of people that post in those sections and the types I have recieved responses from have been good people.

This is a FREE country. if you don't like it, don't go there...very simple. Its not like its going to automatically pop up on your computer and you HAVE To see it right!!

Yes, the 23 year old knows right from wrong but we are talking about someone with the mind OF A 10 YEAR OLD! AND FOR THE RECORD: SHE IS NOT A DRUG ADDICT. If she was taking drugs it was her first time with the other 2 because she JUST RAN AWAY FROM HOME WITH THEM!!!!! She is someone with a 10 YEAR OLD BRAIN stuck in a 23 YEAR OLD BODY. The other 2 took full ADVANTAGE of this. They were having the 23 year old SCREW around with boys that they claimed LIKED HER so that THEY could get High. They also drained the 23 year old's BANK ACCOUNT! She was SO HAPPY to "HAVE A FRIEND" finally. Anyone who is experienced with mental retardation will understand.

The 23 year old is not addicted but she was SEVERELY sexually abused by both her biological parents before being put in foster care and then eventually adopted by the family she is with now.

I don't think anyone has a problem with Craig's list, just the illegal prostitution. The LEO's just used the List to conduct a sting.

But it's not legal, and prostitutes often are not of legal age, and they are often NON-CONSENTING, making them slaves. When you solicit a prostitute, how, as a buyer, would you know any of these factors?

As a 'John' one is creating the "demand," which in turn perpetuates the crime against women and children by forcing them into a prostitution to fill the need. How many women do you think truly WANT to loiter at a truck stop and give sex/oral sex to trucker after trucker for little or no pay? VERY FEW PROSTITUTES make lots of money for themselves. I don't see the big deal here. I would guess that a little prostitution is the best thing a dump like East Haven has going for it.

Truth be told, prostitutes are the only reason I go to East Haven. The hooks are unskilled and ugly (you ask for a rimmer and end up with a socket wrench lodged in your can), but I'm on a budget.
