Sykes - anyone work there? Good place to work? Easy to get hired on? (Questions)

I am interested in applying for a job at Sykes, and would like to hear a little about it from those who work there or know someone who does. Is it a good work environment? Does it pay well? How difficult is it to get on at Sykes? Any advice? What shifts do they have?

At this point, if you were to apply you would be on the Bank of America side, which you would work 3-12 Tuesday through Sat. If your social security number is better than a lottery number, you MIGHT be early enough to get an early shift on the ATM debit side.

You will work Holidays and weekends. They are open Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years.

If you get sick or need a minute between phone calls- you won't last long.

The insurance they provide is minimal. Unless you have a health concern, it's not worth getting.

Do they only have one shift, 3-12, open? What is the other shift, the early one you mention? Is Bank of America the only client they have right now?

They have another side, that has enough employees. Everyone who already works there wants on the other side but the positions are filled. Credit card side only has 3-12 but ATM may have earlier, I dunno. Their shifts are sometimes 11-8.

ok I've worked there since Aug. on the Credit card side & i love it..the shift range from 7-4, 8-5, 9-6, 10-7, 8-10pm (4days a week), & then the 3-midnight..they don't go by your ssn they go by ur person ID number which u get on ur first day of work. They do go by whose been there longer. Right now they are only highing for Debit. Which is on the same side as credit. Except the Debit training classes are harder than the credit. I have friends who work on the metlife side & they like it. If you like being cust'd out or anything like that then you would like the BOA side (credit/debit) if you just like to fill out insurance & stuff then you would like metlife side. Either way it goes its a pretty decsent place to work. the ppl there are friendly & are easy to get along with. So I mean I would advise you to put in an application I'm glad I did. I've only been cust'd like twice & like i said i've been there since august on the credit side..but right now there just trying to get the debit side built up..so more than likely they will have dayshift openings for debit..

It's minimal. You have a choice between Aetna 5,000 or 10,000. They deduct $11.88 per paycheck for the $5,000 dollar coverage. The coverage does not cover all perscriptions.

its not worth even getting i was treated for a heart attack and they only cover $400 dollars of the treatment now im responsible for over 8k.....

Like i just went & had dental work done & didn't know that there was a 12 month waiting period for like major dental work now i'm stuck w/paying the whole thing so..the insurance sucks but the job is prety good

Does Sykes do there background and drug test on the same day? Or after your background check comes back.. which one first?

The will scedule you for that after for inteview.Mine was like 2 weeks later they gave me a card with when I had to be back. So if you do anything STOP. They mouth swab you...

If you are going to apply for a job at Sykes I advise you to be put on the Bank Debit card side you have time between calls on this side just whatever you do don't be put on Christy Hermans team I was on the her team and she thinks she's better than anyone and knows it all! The bitch use to live in Vegas and has a nice house that she let her ex husband have in their divorce..as she claims if you was living in Vegas making better money how the hell you get to Grundy. Another piece of advice when you want a day off or anything go straight to Mike and demand it be a bitch or they will walk all over you.

If you can't get a job at Sykes then you can't get a job anywhere. They will hire anyone who can pass their very minimal guidelines. The people there have tatoo's up and down their arms and wild hair colors as if they just left a biker convention.I walked in looking really nice, sat down and answered a few standard interview questions and knew I had a job before I left pending the drug screen and background check. A guy who interviewed right behind me came in wearing a pair of jeans and looked like he just rolled out of bed and and they hired him on the spot as well. They know that most people who apply there can't pass a drug test so if you know you can pass it just go ahead and take it if it's offered, but if you know you can't pass it just tell them you are looking for a job within a couple of months and they will hold off on the drug screening until it's closer to your training and start date. This way you will have enough time to get yourself clean. The interview is relaxed and more like a formality to them. They have a standard list of questions that they asked everyone and it's mostly "name a time" questions where you tell a personal story related to the question, Just make it up in your head telling them what you think they want to hear like I did. I don't know how bad your background check has to be before they turn you down since I did not have a record. I can tell you that it for sure didn't include a credit check or I would never have been hired. If you have internet then go online and complete the application process and the assessement. If you do this it will make getting the job a lot easier. someone will contact you within a couple of days.

I recently had 2 interviews filled out all my paperwork and did my drug test all in the same day. does this usually mean your hired??? does sykes do random drug screenng or is it just the one time?

Sykes does do random drug screenings however if you have had 2 interniews and done a drug test/ back ground check if everything is cleared then yes that does mean your hired..Look forward to seeing you in the next training class...

Watch out for the shit piles on the bathroom floors,
that place is beyond nasty.

And the women leave there used feminine products laying all over the bathroom floors to. Some times you cant even go to the toilet because some bodys spread filth all over the stall and toilet. This is a safety problem. If we had a union this could be fixed.

The managers there suck, and are so rude.Alot of stuff goes on there that shouldn't in a work place...affairs,drugs,marajuan ia,fights,cursing each other,stealing..........carry a weapon if you do get a job there.
