Re: Loser
I've been in his shoes before, and in south Florida. Just because you can speak or write well doesn't guarantee a decent job. Unless you can do something very unique in your industry, if you're going to be working for someone else you'll need a degree of some kind. Even then you're at the whims of your employer. You either have to job hop because you'll get no reward for company loyalty or you have to BECOME the employer. Its a hard but simple truth. Welcome to the global economy. |

Loser- you are not a loser. If it's any comfort, having a degree these days does not mean job security. It may for some, but there are many people who are either being laid off or are constantly on the "chopping block." (Myself included). Then when you get laid off due to cutbacks, you still have to pay your student loans.
If you learn by doing, you possess your own type of intelligence. In that department I am kind of stupid. I learn by writing and reading, so if I have to learn by "doing" I am the person who takes that extra half hour to get everything straight. Believe me when I say it is no fun to go through Basic Training when you can't learn by doing. With my degree, I still have to pay a person to fix my car, I still have to pay someone to install my new pipes in my basement, I still have to drive on roads that need paved.(All of my textbook intelligence doesn't make the bathtub drain any faster.) These jobs are done by people who learn by doing. We can't phase that out of society no matter how over-educated we all become. There will always be a need for that kind of knowledge! |
Howdy Neighbor. Very good advice - you're a good man. |

1 Hang yourself, walk on the beach, stay at home and scratch your ass, who gives a shit? if you can recognize your weakness and pretend it's a mountain to move, then you are a Jackass. It is folks like you that cost tax payers extra money unnecessarly and quite frankly whoever you hang around need to unleash the Lion. |

1 Noooo! you got it all wrong they don't need any Adderall or none of the other bullshit. What they need is for the parents to open a can of WHIPASS on them. That's what's lacking people. The parents are not running the home, the kids are and that's the problem. |

If you understood the current banking system you would realize that the out of work people living on disability are not a problem because the privately owned federal reserve(prints our money) can pick any number amount they want and just print that amount. So the true problem is that we move away from the gold standard. |

The last guy who attempted to break up the Fed and tie our currency to solid metal got a bullet in the head for his efforts... It sickens me how people realize that A: Our currency is owned and minted by a PRIVATE company, and that EVERY dollar in circulation is LOANED to government, at interest; and B: Your Federal Income Tax does NOT pay for ANY government program (Reagan's "Cadillac-driving welfare queens" included). Your income tax goes to pay the interest down in the perpetual cycle of debt created by the Federal Reserve system. Instead, we get to see the results of an American generation that has been dumbed-down to the point of believing that republicans are patriots and that democrats have a conscience, when in truth, they are BOTH ownwed by the same people! Meet the new boss, same as the old boss! |

You know, despite the fact that you are ignorant to the point of absurdity, I have to grant you this one small point. The last two generations of Americans were raised to be so stupid as to not even have a sense of cause and effect regarding their own actions. And when parents use superior force to back their words, it is now called "abuse". I think this is actually the policy of our government (regardless of which party holds the throne), and it is intentional. We are three generations removed from the greatest Americans to walk the Earth, and our Masters have gone a LONG way to reduce us from the strongest and proudest Nation in history, to the point where we are now on the brink of becoming a third world country. |

Now large universities and colleges are reducing the emphasis on SATs and ACTs by not requiring them anymore. Just great. |
