CCSO recovers stolen property, charges 2 men

On Thursday, Sheriff Bill Marcum and deputies of the Calloway County Sheriff's Office, along with deputies from the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, executed a search warrant at 315 Linzy Beane Lane and another at 255 Linzy Beane Lane.

The search warrant was obtained following a joint investigation conducted by the two agencies into recent thefts in the area. While executing the search warrant, several stolen items were recovered. The items included vehicle parts, car wheels and tires, an ATV, a utility trailer and a dirt bike. The items had been stolen in various locations across Calloway and Marshall counties.


The Sheriff's Office charged James D. Elliott, 55, of 315 Linzy Beane Lane, with two counts of receiving stolen property under $10,000 (felony). They also charged William D. Elliott, 26, of 255 Linzy Beane Lane with one count of theft by unlawful taking from an automobile (felony). Both subjects were lodged in the Calloway County Jail. The investigation is continuing.
