This story was originally posted in early February. It is getting a retread while the NM Supreme Court deliberates on Bent's appeal. By now, I hope that Esther has come to her senses and realizes Bent is no Messiah, regardless of her affection for him. I hope she did not suffer permanent organ damage from her fasting that was ended when the State seized her and force fed her.

Regardless of whether Bent's appeal is successful, this brainwashed extremist sect bears watching. This story could get much uglier; we must not allow anything resembling Jonestown to happen again.

I think it is more likely than not that he will win on at least part of his appeal, and will be back among his followers before long. They should be carefully watched, I guess by CYFD.

Bent on words and deeds is this deceiving cult-leader. Your dogma sounds like any other religious groups that have gone on by way of suicide to make their point which in reality is pointless. just give us fair-warning so that the M.E.'s office can prepare for such a party. If this death-wish is what the majority of followers desire, let it be. Life is too short for delaying the inevitable....
