I am trying to file a claim with the RCI Class Action Settlement, but I can't find the RCI Resort Number assigned to Legends. Can anyone provide that number to me? Thanks very much.

I have contacted someone running for Vernon township council to see if I can get some feedback to try and help you all.......just a former resident that thinks you all got a bum deal.

You should still be able to get in to RCI to get the resort #. I didn't have it either so I just typed in the name.

The resort number for Legends is in the RCI book. It says 5359.

I heard back from someone in Vernon, they said that the council meetings are now televised, if your local you can watch these meetings. Also that if a group of you,(if you live in NJ) can get together and go to a council meeting they are the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month. Also said was that township would respond to code violations and back tax issues. Only other comment was get a good real estate lawyer, preferably not from Sussex Cty.

I wish I could give you better news, but I have one more person I can contact and see if I can get you all some help. There has to be someone in the township that would be willing to get behind you and support you all.

We have been through all of this for years when it comes to the Vernon council..........they will not bite the hand that feeds them.......namely ohh it will come to me.think it starts with a ...."M"

Hi Sue and Robin!

I am the person that mentioned we had exchanged our week for a resort in Orlando. We're actually leaving in a couple days, we'll be checking in on Saturday. So far, so good - the resort called us at home over the weekend to confirm everything and ask if we had questions.

I'll let you know if we experience any problems, although I'm not expecting any.

There are several people running for Vernon town council, I was hoping that someone would take an interest in this Legends mess, as this is a reflection on the town and its residents. I really wish I could be more help, but I can only do so much as a former resident myself. I'll keep trying to see if I can get a fire lite under someone.

If you look back through the years of posts and I know there are quite a lot, you will see that I attended meeting after meeting, wrote letters and was interviewed by local newspapers, including the NJ Herald, Vernon Advertiser, the Sunday Star Ledger. Debra worked like a dog for LOU. She personally spoke with legislators and with the Real Estate Commission. The website she developed says it all. Vernon's mayor has a sister who still owns a timeshare at Legends. I don't want to dissuade anyone and by all means, stay involved but really, the fire was lit and burning hot for a good 3 years but nothing happened. That is why I chose to seek a way out and for us, it was giving the timeshare back. That is what was good for us-maybe not for everyone. By the way, if you are at all keeping up with Vernon politics, things are in such a mess, I doubt Legends is even on the radar.

Sorry, I incorrectly stated that "....nothing happened" Actually, we did have an effect: Legends owners now have II as a timeshare exchange company. Regardless of the conditions at Legends that we know are crummy, Legends owners can exchange their timeshares now, which was our biggest complaint. Who knows how long that will last or if anyone gets decent exchanges are unanswered questions but for all intents and purposes, you are supposed to be able to exchange your timeshare. It will be interesting to see what Aaron says when he returns from FL. I also wonder why there are more posters on this forum who have initiated or concluded an exchange. No one here is complaining(yet) that the II affiliation is bogus....

Whoops, I meant that I wonder why there are NOT more posters discussing their timeshare exchanges with II.

I stayed at Legends for a month ,and it was Horrible. During my stay my family ,and I experienced that the room had BED BUGS . Me and my family had been lied to and neglected during this time. Me and my Daughter were tore up and bitten baddly. They blamed us and threw us out blaming us .Upon exterminator checking , he stated by the amount of bugs in the time we were there , that the problem was already in Legends. Dont stay there they neglect people and are RUDE.

Did you stay at Legends as a time share person? I thought time shares were only for a week or two, unless you were there for other reasons? Why didn't you contact the Vernon Board of Health to get them there to see the problem?

People, who would otherwise be homeless have been living at Legends for years.

Connie - sorry to hear about that - how they treated you was unconscionable.

I would like to hear if there were any complaints lodged with the Vernon Board of Health. It would be interesting to hear what they would say about that.

It is remarkable to think that our maintenance fees are going toward maintaining in effect a shelter, and that Legends is somehow even being kept open as such! Then again, I try not to think about it much!
