Cathy wrote: I agreed I would not recommend Street Links Appraisals either. I paid $500(rip off) and we STILL have not received a copy of our appraisal after we paid $500 for it. When the appraisal came up, it is totally not accurated. They provided much lower price lower than other third party, trust worthy home appraisal organization like Zillow and others. They compared my townhome with the other townhome that has 1,000 sqft less than my home and didn't add those values up for me. This is terrible mistakes from this appraisal company. Don't use them or if your bank want to use them , request your bank to use other company.... I hear you. I was also ripped off for $640 for my duplex. This company sucks. And the bank mortgage company gets to choose the appraisal company that rips you off. I read the reviews here for this company, and its reputation is bad.

All these negative coments about Streetlinks is all making sense now. I was hired by Streetlinks through an agency. Got the offer and acepted Get this, I did all the Prove-It tests, interviews, background checks, drug screening...the whole nine yards. I was told my start date would be in approx 2 weeks. I started making new arrangements for my kids daycare (deposits and such) Well, it kept getting pushed back a week at a time,(very strange), yet I was continually being told by the recruiting co., that it was because Streetlnks was just logistically getting ramped up for all the new people coming on. Needless to say I was not feeling comfortable, since I have NEVER been offered a job without a set start date, much less it being pushed back like 3 times on a week by week basis. Then I get a call approx 1 month after getting the offer and all the push backs...from the recruiting company. "uhh we have some real bad news...Streetlinks just laid off 30 or so employees due to projected quarterly revenues falling way short...so you and about 15 others now have no job." I knew it, WOW, I get an offer and then dont even start. I wasted a month waiting for a start date only to have this happen. However, after reading others comments.it seems this was a blessing in disguise.

Jesse James wrote: The mortgage company was the original requestor of the appraisal. They are the ones contractually obligated to give it to you. Not the appraisal company. The lender hired them. Contractually the appraisal company cannot for security reasons, give the appraisal to you. Hope this helps. This is absolutely not true. I always had received the appraisal report from the Appraisal company since they are independent entities and you pay them directly for their services.

Do not do business with this company. If your lender has to use this company, abort. Do not let them take your money. They are devaluing the market and scamming you. The appraisers they use do not know the areas and do not take time to put together a thoughful appraisal. Their comps are garbage. How can a house be appraised for 10% less than it was appraised for 3 months prior? And don't waste their time with the appeal process, they will not accept any information you provide. They will insist that the properties they used are better and won't consider anything else. The market can never recover as long as businesses like Streetlinks are allowed to exist.

We decided to wait on our refinance, but we wanted a copy since we paid for it. We have tried to contact them numerous times, and we have never been able to speak with anyone. We are now disputing the charge with our credit card company. i am a certified real estate appraiser. Streetlinks client is your lender the appraisal report is for the lender to aid in a mortgage finance decision. Even though you paid for the appraisal it is not yours. I know on your end that doesn't seem fair but that is how it works. Hope this helps,

I wish I had a choice to not use them but I didn't. The lender wanted an appraisal review done becasue they did not believe the value of the original appraisal.(Pretty typical I guess) We were supposed to close on September 21 and this review was ordered on Sept. 14. We got to September 21 and found that the review wasnt completed yet. We then pushed the closing back to Sept 26. Got to the 26th and it still was not completed. We then found out on the 27th that they had just ordered an inspector to go in on Oct 1. So at this time we set up another closing date on October 3rd and as of Oct 3rd(yesterday) it still was not finished becasue revisions needed to be made and it has been sitting with their quality department for well over a day now. I am pretty sure the people over there read at a 2nd grade level and have no care in the world for peoples lives and how bad they screw them up by pushing closing dates back 5 times becasue they can't do their job. Every time you see a status update sent from them there is a different name at the end of it so do they really have any clue what they are doing over there and do they have any sort of organization skills whats so ever. Obviously not.... well hopefully we will close tomorrow... Our 6th scheduled closing date!

We were trying to refinance our 8% mortgage. The company used Streetlinks. The appraisal was paid for a month ago. They didn't get it done and then they doubled the appraisal fee they wanted. Because of this the loan company pulled out of the loan and we lost our already approved loan based on appraisal. They caused us to waste over a month of our time. we have not been reimbursed the money and we are now paying interest on the credit care that it was put on These guys are crooks.

I am moving to the Indy area and a friend works for streetlinks. They said it was a great job and great pay. After seeing their website I was concerned, it had the cheesy pictures, cheesy testimonials. Looks like something that would be posted in my colleges campus. The description of the job was very short, but never really said what you actually do. After reading this I've cut out the opportunity. Apparently they're hiring in the Indy area inJanuary. My friend got the job right away, which also concerned me. Does this is job require no skills or experience?! I feel like Id be doing better at Hooters.

If you like to be micromanaged then I guess Streetlinks could work for you. They claim to only hire appraisers now but I know a few people there that have no appraiser experience and only minor mortgage lending experience. Plus, they hire you and if you dont pass a series of exams they let you go. The benefits are expensive, and they cover jack...idk why they even offer benefits, you're better off paying less and getting an individual plan. And when I worked there, they offered a quarterly bonus instead if a 401k or any retirement plan, which since then I heard the bonuses have been drastically reduced to merely a little over $150 per qtr ONLY IF they make the numbers. I have also heard that they are in the works for a GOD AWFUL 401k plan with no company match....maybe rolling out at the beginning of the year. If you are thinking of considering this company for employment, RUN!!!! You could probably do much better at Hooters even with A cup boobs..... Don't work here! Don't drink the Kool-Aid they give you! I worked for this place as a temp. I came in with a group of temps and a few days before we were to be hired on, they decided to restructure the departments and let several of us temps go on the same day. We had no indication that anything was wrong and they weren't going to hire us. We had actually just been trained for something new the day before. They wouldn't even let me talk to anyone within the company about being let go. I got the silent treatment. They used us to get through a busy time and once it slowed down they threw us away like a used kleenex. This place is absolutely the worst place I've ever worked. They preach teamwork and that they let employees advance at their own pace and set their own career path and they'll help you get to where you want to go. LIES! They don't care a drop about their employees. You can only advance if they want you to. This is an aweful, unethical company and having worked here and knowing their processes and ways of dealing with customers, when I buy house, the appraisal will NOT come from Streetlinks.

Our lender said we had to use them. There were 7 identical sales in the last 6 months as I live in a condo and the appraisal came in $50,000 lower than the average of the sales made in the last 6 months! It's not hard to take 7 numbers add them and divide but apparently it is for Streetlinks!

Appraisal Pissed Off

I applied for a refi and this bunch of amatuers appraised my home at 50% of what I paid to build it...yes build it...they did not even give me sq. footage credit for a fully finished garage apartment. I spoke to my builder and h.o. insurance company and they both stated it would cost as much or more to build the house today as it did then
bottom-line this bogus appraisal cost me a 1.5% reduction on my mortgage rate and thousands of $$$$$...definitely avoid them

My house has been with the same bank (First Midwest Bank) since 1994. We built in 1988. Went in to roll two lines of credit into one mortgage - even though they had just done an appraisal in 2009 for the second line of credit, a new appraisal was ordered - which I had to pay for of course. They told me they had a new appraisal company - StreetLinks - didn't know anything about them TIL NOW. Appraisal came back for less than what it cost to build the place in 1988! The bank has declined the refinance based on this bogus appraisal even though they have three appraisals on file. While the bank says they are appealing, my trust in their saying that is obviously low. Needless to say StreetLinks is a sham, no faith in First Midwest Bank and looking for a new lender. Anyone know if US Bank uses StreetLinks? Just another example of how messed up this country is.

Streetlinks is a terrible appraisal management company. The sad part is they were formed by appraisers so you would think that they know what they are doing. Not so. I have been in the appraisal biz for 23 years and Streetlinks is a modern day chop shop. Stay away. Really bad.
