We would not recommend Street Links Appraisals. We STILL have not received a copy of our appraisal after we paid $340 for it. We decided to wait on our refinance, but we wanted a copy since we paid for it. We have tried to contact them numerous times, and we have never been able to speak with anyone. We are now disputing the charge with our credit card company.

The mortgage company was the original requestor of the appraisal. They are the ones contractually obligated to give it to you. Not the appraisal company. The lender hired them. Contractually the appraisal company cannot for security reasons, give the appraisal to you.

Jesse is correct. By law, appraisal management companies cannot give anyone but the original requestor of the appraisal access to it. (think doctor/patient confidentiality)

I would not use StreetLinks AMC either. For many reasons. It has been my experience in direct dealings that they are unethical and a waste of money!

I believe that by federal regulation and in our state, state regulation the lender is required to supply a copy of the completed appraisal report to the borrower. The only time the lender would not be required to supply a copy is when the lender pays for the appraisal not the borrower. If you have not yet received your copy contact you state department of financial institutions, or the equivalent.
