It's over for me. I'm switching to Hillary. How anybody can support him now knowing the true (and scary) beliefs of Obama's own spiritual adviser for 20 years is beyond me. Hard to believe 3,200 even showed up and cheered him. Did they miss the news? And to think this man subjected his own kids to that trash, week after week. At least we are finding this out (hopefully) in time to stop him from being our President.

My turn on the computer. Please, Indiana (my beloved home state), send a strong and loud message: No to Obama. Even if he really does not agree with his pastor's aweful beliefs, he showed terrible judgment in continuing to attend that church. And that pastor baptised his kids, married he and his wife and (assuming he tithes) gave money to that church and that pastor. It's too late to change our votes, but please, Indiana, the rest of the nation's Democrats are counting on you. As imperfect as she is, you have to vote for Hillary.

I'm a Clinton supporter DESPITE the fact that Evan Bayh and Dan Parker support her not BECAUSE of it. I want to see a woman president and she is certainly well-qualified to be the first. However, I really like Obama and will support him if he is the eventual nominee. I think a lot of Hillary supporters feel that way. It's not necessarily an "either or" situation it's a "either one is fine" situation for many Democrats.

No way, New Zealand. We are sincere and have nothing to do with the Clinton campaign. Since we are ex-Indiana, we always check our Indy Star on line. This pastor's close ties to Obama has really changed our opinion.

The Obama people's movement for hope and change in America have raised the stake very high indeed in the current political dispensation.
Inspite of all the negativism, maliciousness and campaign of calumny against his person, race and even ideology (which as a matter of fact is absolutely similar to those of JFK, MLK and Abraham Lincoln), he have continued to trust in the American people rather than the lobbyists and special interests.

The syndicated nepotic press have not been very objective towards Obama, since he assumed a potential nominee for the Democratic Party. There are so many forces that are relentlessly trying to undermine the gains the movement and him have made so far.
Nevertheless, the people of America I strongly believe shall also rise to the occasion and suport the candidacy of Obama.
His politics transcend just mere politicking and those typically imagined by Americans; here is a man who represents almost all part of the continents, celebrated world wide, adored at home and oversea and have won the confidence of especially Americans living oversea, who understand the pain of the stigman of being an American under the prevailing circumstances in Iraq and elsewhere.

Yes we can indeed.
United we stand, divided the cronies of the status quo shall continue to perpetuate themselves in the White House.
I am for Obama, what about you?

I do not understand AT ALL how a true blooded American could sit in a church for 20 years and listen to such an IDIOT throwing around the race card and displaying his hateful, predjudiced meassage and anti-American rhetoric. As an average white American, had a white preacher said those types of things against America and the black race, I would have gotten up and left-----never to return.

I can not help but wonder if this type of brainwashing for 20 years led Mrs. Obama to say "for the first time in (her) life,(she) was pround to be an American".

I think it is time the IRS and state governements start charging these churches with income and property taxes. Part of their tax exemption includes a committment to not try and influence government legislation or promote for or preach against a political candidate. I say tax them !! All of them------the Jerry Followell types also.

I can't believe that he goes to that church with that racist pastor. There's no way he can win the presidency. He needs to quit for the good of the party. He should have quit that church years ago. He should quit the church now. Maybe he can run again in the future but there's no way as close as he is to reverend wright that he can win a national election.

All well meaning Americans want the country's battered image to be restore!
All Americans want the economy to be strong again!
Americans want affordable healthcare and education!
The same goes for a logical end to the war in Iraq and elswhere that the country without provocation is invloved in!
How do we hope to achieve all these, coupled with the demand for responsible, accountable transparent and very independent leader, who will not be easily influenced by lobbyists?
Only Obama in the current dispensation can bring the kind of sanity we are anticipating the White House to become.
Only Obama have displayed an unequal level of honesty, transparency and quest for unity, with the additional unique quality of recognizing the power of the American people, rather than those of the few wealthy and egocentric Americans.
The choice is yours, as for me and my family, we have chosen Obama. Truly this is your campaign and not those of Obama.

In the Bible we have a lot of "controversial" men of God, who as of their own time the authority never like them a bit! Such pastors reminded those in authority about their lethargic life style, which in most cases is contrary to what God demand of them.
While I may not support some of the comments of the very Rev. Wright, it is also important to look at it this way: is he saying the inconvenient truth?
Could it be that, as a spiritual leader and a social crusader, he is figuartively telling us to reconcile with the world and let peace reign, if at all the country claim and believe in the saying "in God we trust", check you dollarr bill?
Except you are just looking at the political dimension alone, otherwise, we are called to be Godly, compassionate and objective.

Obama is not honest. He said he's never heard racist things from his pastor. He goes to church for twenty years and we're supposed to believe this was a surprise? If a pastor says racist things, everyone in the church knows about it. You either leave the church or stay. Some people are saying its bad judgement. My opinion is it is bad character. And he is going to drag the democratic party down with this mess. If he had character, he would withdraw.

Who could possibly feel comfortable and applaud racism? Jeremiah Wright has left the campain. Isn't this about 20 years too late? I wanted to vote for Obama but this is just too much. I will support hillary for the good of the party and our country. I can't stand the thought of a republican carrying on the dismal failures of bush. What also troubled me about obama was that he said that the current administration had never done anything grave enough to warrant impeachment - I kind of knew why some of the republicans like him.

It is very sad you feel this way, however going by your expression that he could run in the future compromise the essence of your argument. If you search your heart, it will become obvious to you that, anything associated with Obama according to you is bad, while anybody against him to you is okay.
That is not moving this country forward.
If you have afriend who run into some difficult situation with the law, does such a fellow automatically become an enemy? What about you, did your association with that friend in question make you to go against the law?
Be careful what you wish for, it might come back and hunt you.
Cheers and God bless

Interesting how all of the sudden the IndyStar message boards are frequented by people throughout the country. My guess that many are paid supporters of either camp.

I will continue to support OBAMA. There is no way that this pastor preached in this manner each and every sunday. I would admit that the pastor did sound a bit "too hostile" but people have to understand the history of the black church too. Also there are whites who go to this church too! Its just like having a parent who embarasses you from time to time. You don't completely disown them because of their behaviour! He has his own mind and if he believed what the pastor was preaching "HE WOULDN'T BE RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT". People must understand OBAMA is not "all for black america" and he is not "all for white america". His campaign is for EVERYONE!Now USA is in a "big mess" right now and it is going to get worse. Look how "unpatriotic" Bush is. Look how he has destroyed this country, and people are getting upset about some preacher that does not even have the power to do a bit of the things that Bush has done. Bush is the "american traitor". Its terrible!!And if you vote for Billary or McCain you will get four more years of the same. IF someone wants to "jump ship" because of this incident then it is better not to vote at all. Because as this goes along there is going to be more about each candidate..Its going to get uglier....MAKE UP YOUR MIND!!!!!!!

I like Obama, but I dont believe a word he says. I havent since he was asked a long time ago if he was running for President and he said no, he had to consider his young daughters, that gave me alot of respect for him. Then when he announced he was running, he was asked about that comment and said he had decided to make that sacrifice.

I feel sorry for his kids. He should have stuck to his original comment and put them first.

unfortunately, I am not a paid supporter of either of the candidate, however, it is true if you may know that I am among the groups that believe in the ideology and articulation of Senator Obama. He is a minority, disadvantaged and looked down at by those who want to perpetuate the life style of mediocrity and hegemony, however, not withstanding all these shameful act of inhumanity to mankind, he still stood up for what he believes and he is asking us to do the same. What is wrong about hope and change? Give credit to Obama!
If ever you have had the opportunity to travel overseas and see for yourself the way the ridicule the USA and its people, you may have a little understanding of what Obama represents.
Take care my friend, life is larger than just being in the USA.
God bless you
