They need to fix the exchange between Snelling and 694. That is one of the worst exchanges in the state.

This winter was brutal on the roads. Lexington and Larpenter are almost undrivable in places.

I wonder how much too much we will pay for these under the guise of 'creating' 1000 jobs. In the fall (if even that long), most of those jobs will be gone, and the people back on the State bankroll.

Just about everywhere in this area, the roads are horrible. Let's get the projects rolling and put people back to work. Too bad the state gave refunds back when there was a surplus. That was the time to spend on our infrastructure.

Hey I got an idea why don't we finish what the state is already working on first then start a new one. I forgot the DFL is in charge so yes there goes all of the money, start new but never finish and so they can have an excuse to raise more taxes on us here in minnesota and make more cuts in our schools.so repair whats there first then start and FINISH a new project it will still creat job also

I'm sure people on the 35W bridge thought the same thing. What a waste...spending on infrastructure.

Publis transportation is where the money should go. Trains, buses and so on. I see way too many vehicles with only one or two people in them.

Sure hope so.
31 Jobs Equals $76 Million?
D.C. Auditor Deborah K. Nichols is recommending that the city end the Certified Capital Companies program, which is run by the District Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking, after concluding that it created just 31 jobs after $76 million in expenditures.
The program was created in 2004 to "stimulate the growth of small and start-up businesses in the District of Columbia," according to a report by Nichols. Increased income tax revenues generated by salaries from the newly created jobs were supposed to offset the insurance premium taxes used to fund the progam. With 31 jobs created, that repayment was a failure, according to the report.
Council member Muriel Bowser (D-Ward 4) said she plans to take immediate action after an oversight hearing of DISB today.
"As Chairman of the Committee on Public Services and Consumer Affairs the committee that has oversight of DISB, I will hold this agency accountable for this colossal waste of taxpayer funds," she said in a statement.

I suggest all vehicle passage ways get renamed
" Pot Hole Parkway"...There is not a shortage of work on the roads since they have been neglected for so long. The GOP has been running this way too long.
The state houses can pass bills but need the GOP gov to sign the bill to become a law. Now with some ear marks much will get done.

I'm not sure $46,000 for sign replacement is worth it. That sounds like something that SHOULD have been done on a routine basis...

While it's not much, it is the type of program that when added together gets to be real $$$.

But I guess it is good for 3M.

That's the one. Plus they run 694 down to one lane at that point and it backs up for miles if you are coming from either direction.

Those drunken Irishman who laid out ST. Paul must have been handling the Interstate system as well.
How about the NO MERGE LANE to east bound on 694 off of 35W southbound, OMG talk about a cluster.
Us northern burbs got hammered when it came to freeway design.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Leo

The atmosphere is highly combustible today, with people getting in a stew over the smallest little thing. You will also have a tendency to get hot under the collar, especially if someone isn't doing things as quickly as you'd like. Try to stop yourself getting in a rage because once that happens it will be difficult to cool down again. Maybe you need some fresh air?
