this happened to my granddaughter in 2002....in georgia....it was her so called boyfriend...claiming it was a accident....but i know in my heart it was not.......i do not know this young lady.....but may she rest in peace...and my heart goes out to the family god bless them in this time of tragedy....amen

tis is very tragic and my sympathy goes out to both families especially the girl's more so than the boy's who hid this gun. why were they even playing with a gun in the fisrt place? a bullet has no name!! god bless this girl's family and give them the strength they deserve.

Our church is lifting the Wilson family up in prayer. Our neighborhood teens attend school with Nakita and her brother who is also a very sports oriented young man. He's very, very angry and hurt right now...Please lift this family up for Gods peace that passes ALL understanding to gently cover this entire family during these difficult times and saddened holidays. And for total community support!

Tracey I want you to know that you are in my prayers. Nakita was a beautiful, well loved young lady and god will take good care of her now. I know you are hurting and feel alone. You are not alone Tracey we are all here for you. My heart goes out to you and your family. You have to be strong for the rest of the family and I know you can be. I know you Tracey and I know your faith,keep believing and praying god is listening. Nakita is in heaven happy and safe, smiling and laughing like she always did. I am here for you always know that. I played basketball with Kita last year. though i did not play this year and did not finish the season last year, kita and i always remained close. she is the funniest, most sweetest girl you could ever meet. I love you girl and miss you. To Kita's family, God has a plan for everyone and it was God's plan to have Kita in heaven to give everyone above a laugh! Stay strong. You have everyones support!

in the state of georgia , can't the owners of the house , the parents of the teen and the other teens present there also be charged as accessories of the crime,, letting teens have guns and glorifing these guns have got to stop .. i know i am fed up with all these stories of so called accidential shootings

This is such a tragedy. I send my sympathy to the Wilson family. I didn't know Nakita, but I do know her brothers as they are my sons friends...and he was also a friend of Nakita's...they all hung out together in the neighborhood. This has hit so close to home and watching my son hurt over losing a friend is hard. This breaks my heart to see this happen to our children. My heart and prayers go out to all of Nakita's family.
To the family: God will get you through...just keep looking up for your strength. And as your heart feels like it is crumbling inside, know we are all praying for you, love you, and are here for you. Stay strong for Nakita.
And to all those reading: Keep this family in your prayers please.

We need to realize that regardless of the age,place or time which is not to our choosing when The Lord God will call us home and we may even grieve now or later.We must celebrate life while we still yet have it.Jesus died by way of the cross as horrible and cruel as it was,He loved us.Let us not forget that its not how we go down but its how we are raised(from death) and with hope it can be with Him in glory.My prayers are with this family

I agree with you! Time and time again we see tragedies that could have so easily been avoided if the parents had been parenting.

If the gun belonged to one of the parents, they could be held accountable. What a tragedy.

My prayers to the family.

I feel so sorry for both families, but someone must be held accountable. No matter which family this gun came from. The gun should have been locked up separately from the ammunition. The key should have been with the adult who owns the gun. We have to make better decisions. I have 3 children myself and I can truly sympathize with wanting to own a gun for protection (I am a single parent), but, I chose not to own a gun because one of my children is autistic and I know that she would never be safe in a house with a gun. Poor child.

Take comfort in knowing the Nakita is dancing with the Angels. Although your loss will remain forever, time will ease the pain.

A couple of years ago me and Nakita played basketball for A.Z. Kelsey Middle School.We were very close. I know that this is very hard for her family. I just want her family to know that Nakita's in a better place know. I send out much love to her family.

During the 2005-2006 school year I had the priviledge of student teaching Nikita along side of my mentor Dr. Ram at A. Z. Kelsey Middle School. She was such a sweet young lady. I will never forget her and I will surely miss her. I will continue to pray for her family to find the closure they so rightly deserve.

I just want to say that my prayers go out to Nakita's family.But also my prayers go out to the boy's family to because we weren't there to determine what really happened.Everyone is so concerned about one family and not the other can you all imagine if he was your child how would you feel if everyone just assumed that your child was intentionally trying to hurt someone.We all need to see what happened for what it is an accident and lend our prayers and support for both family's.I'm pretty sure the boy's family is hurting just as well,and i noticed no one seem's to care about them.
