YAY good move now to get all theatres to follow suit, this and the cost are the reasons I haven't been to one in 2 years. I pay good money to see a movie last thing I want is someone sitting around me plucking away on a phone or won't turn the ringer off and IGNORE the call. Come on piedmont theatres follow suit with this theatre and I'll be back to see the movies and first person I see doing it I'll be up to find someone to escort them out.

GOOD! People yakking away on cell phones is one reason why I don't go to movies anymore, but if other theaters adopt this policy, I might consider going back. Why can't people just turn their phones off for a couple hours? Sheesh! What did people do in the days before cell phones? And who the heck are all these people TALKING TO anyway?

lol Mary, some people just talk to talk since most people don't care to be very privately quiet when they talk on cells I've heard some very stupid inane convos going on. It leaves you thinking this is so important that you can't get through the grocery store before carrying on ths meaningless convo?

I know this Barner girl didn't tell her side of the story to get sympathy from everybody else? I don't care what she was doing on her phone, the bright screen on a cell in a dark theatre irritates everybody. You can be sitting 4 rows away and see somebody's screen come on. By the way, if she was really there to watch the movie, she could have waited until it was over to check her bank balance...why do it during the movie? People have become so rude with their behavior now and no longer show respect to others. What is our world coming to?

Perhaps Ms. Barner will remember this incident as a lesson and not violate policies and regulations in the future. It seems so many people ignore authority, policies and laws acting as if none apply to them. I'm glad the theater personnel stepped up to the plate and enforced their policy against cell phone usage.

It's about time. This is the reason I would skip going to the theatre.

When there is a new policy implemented it would be better policy to inform ALL patrons of the new ban and it's consequences. How about one of those ads we have to sit through before the movie starts. I think the girl deserved a warning followed by ejection if the warning was ignored.

I hope ALL theatres will enact this policy. I also hope they will ban small children and babies from adult movies. As far as I'm concerned - it doesn't matter if Barner didn't receive a warning. She should know better without having to be told how to behave in public.

I'm a little surprised that no one is annoyed by all the little rules and regulations that now govern our lives. Is it really necessary to create policies about common courtesy? Should businesses eject customers who fail to hold the door for someone behind them?

This seems stupid to me. Lots of people use their cell phones like crazy. This is why they buy them. To be told you can't even use it for a few minutes seems weird to me. If I was Briana, I'll go to another place to watch a movie. We like the one in High Point, The Palladium.

It isnt a matter of passing regulations. It's a matter of common courtesy that is obviously lacking in many people. I think its a great idea for theaters. If I pay money to see a movie, I dont want it interupted by a self absorbed jerk using his/her cell phone. If you cant seem to get a crasp of this, maybe you are one of the rude people.

Good, it is about time that a theatre does this! I don't go to movies often because there are so many people who either talk during the movie, or are ignorant enough to actually use a cell phone during the movie. Even if it is only being used to send texts, the light from the phone is almost as distracting as if someone were speaking on it.

My finace was kicked out of the theater for checking a text message. No one gave us a flyer, a warning or anything. If there had been a flyer given out I know he would not have been texting. This rule is a good one, but I think warnings should be given. People should not just be thrown out simply b/c they were not made aware of the new rule!

I first want to start out by saying that my fiancé was kicked out of the Greensboro, NC Four Seasons Station 18 movie theatre on 10/23/1009 at 8:00pm for using the internet on his cell phone. I feel that the movie theater managers specifically targeted the African American movie theater showing the new movie "Good Hair." My fiancé was asked to leave; we did not know of the theaters new no cell phone policy. We were not given a warning or anything, just blatantly asked to leave. I felt discriminated against. All the managers and security guards were white and they were specifically coming into the all African American movie showing looking around. There were several other African American people that were also kicked out. I felt this was institutional racism at its best. Neither I, nor the 9 family members that were with me will ever return to your movie theatre. The managers were extremely rude and were only kicking African Americans out of the theater; from what I observed they were not monitoring any other movies. When my family and I entered the movie room, we noticed a security guard standing on one side of the door. I found this to be odd, but none the less I and my family continued in and sat down. I left out and went to use the restroom and I noticed that the security guard had stopped two African American males and asked to see their ticket stubs. Once I came back into the theatre I noticed the security guard had stopped two more African American males and asked to see their stubs. All four men showed their stubs. There were no managers and no security guards outside of any of the other movie rooms, only the room that was showing the African American film,“Good Hair.” No one was guarding or being kicked out of the movie “Zombieland” or “Couple's Retreat.” I was embarrassed when my fiancé was asked to leave. As an African American female, this is the first time in my life that I have ever experienced discrimination. Obviously, in this case African Americans were being targeted. Sunday night in my family is movie night. I along with my fiancé, my 2 sisters and their husbands, my mother and father and my two nephews attend a movie at your theater religiously, every Sunday. As a family we spend, on average,$135 a week at your theater. Needless to say we will never attend this theatre or any other Grand Theater again.
