Let us hope the engineer sues the estate of the deceased for mental anguish and trauma suffered from blatant disrespect for others.

What a jerk.

I knew him also and found him to be very isolated and you had to say hello first otherwise he would walk right past you.
What is going on at Mercy that the commuity should know about?

I wonder if the Engineer who hit this moron is doing okay? Hopefully he/she has been provided counseling and is moving on with their life, even though they have to live with the fact that some moron stepped out in front of them and killed himself at his/her hands.

Selfish prick!

I am a former student of Professor Dooley. I could not believe my ears when I heard the news of his passing. He was an amazing person. I have never met such an intelligent human being before in my life. He lived for Mercy College. I think that Mercy College should be ashamed of themselves. Honestly speaking, he was one of the only people at that college who was productive and worked. There are sevral comments posted above from people who knew Dooley that are mean and down right disgusting. If you knew this man the way you sat you knew him then you would have never wrote such hatefull remarks about him. For those of you who did not know him, you should mind your business. He was a man of many words. The world is now missing a man that was truly remarkable.

It is also "mean and downright disgusting" for a man of his "stature" to place others in the position he has by being so selfish and thoughtless. What a coward. Now the Engineer who had no choice but to watch a grown man walk in front of his/her train has to live with the memory of it for the rest of their life. Not to mention the time and effort by the medical, police, fire and investigatory staff of the local medical examiner and the time lost to the patrons riding the train. Selfish prick.

I work at Mercy in the library and, I don't respect Mercy's faculty after what my boss did for me to get me here. I don't know the whole details but are they hordeing money, or what? I've seen a lot of professors and faculty just leaving. I want to talk to someone about Dooley to get some answers but I don't know what to say and I don't know if I'm brave enough, or if it would be right.

I will not say who I am or where I reside, formally. I am aware of the many cold and arrogant people of this world who seek wealth and insatiable prosperity to climb that so-called latter of success, caring only of themselves, the same who derive negative comments of this great man, one who contributed innumerably to so many lives in his very short-life! Professor Dooley made exceedingly invaluable contributions to my life, and as witnessed of many students’ success after having him as a professor!
I know not one person will read this unless I state my selling nearly 160,000,000 million copies of my forty-two novels, play scripts, volumes of poetry, and nearly a dozen childrens’ books of all over the world! Also, I will not venture to say how the education received of Professor Dooley influenced my life---incalculably! I became an executive in a very large city of the U.S., amassing a fortune by way of founding a theatrical production company with only $50.00 a month---within ten years a billionaire! I guess by now your undivided attention is marked closely on this essay, right?
In my final year at Mercy, I was required to take Experimental Psychology I & Experimental Psychology II with Professor Dooley. This was the result. Winning the National Social Science Award, where only seven (7) are given out Nationally in the United States---Yes, and again, as a result of the teachings of a psychology professor named James Dooley of Mercy College, Dobbs Ferry, New York---Westchester County! He nominated my person along with at the time Department Chair Francis Mahoney, Ph.d., PsyD., & EdD., and also, he was a long term establisher of the College‘s Psychology Curriculum many have enjoyed over the years; leading many to their professional fields of interest. He allowed me the comfort to develop my very own personality psychological test--such to Professor Dooley was certain to grab the attention of the National Social Science of Excellence Panel. Upon the admission of all required paperwork of him and the Chair. He was a man who gave an indefatigable thirty-one years of his life to the entire Mercy College Community. He touched many of us who knew him deeply as a confidant and a veracious psychology professor who made exceedingly invaluable contributions through his academic and research methods leading many of to seek by way of his devout preparation of taking a class with him; a confidence that will forever live on in me!
In addition to my graduating, in my final semester at Mercy, I asked Professor Dooley if he would supervise a six (6) independent study course. I knew that this was “truly” asking a lot for a man who gave nothingless than his all around the clock--in and out of his private life. He agreed and said he would supervise as needed, and never made me feel as though I could not approach him for guidance or the like. The paper an aggregate total of fifty-six single-spaced pages, nearly twenty-five thousand words. Yes, he read the entire piece and gave a grade ideally suitable and expected of a senior years student.
I once said to Professor Dooley while approaching graduation of my BA in Psychology and graduating top-of-my-class in both academics and psychology---“Why me Dooley?" “I am an academic-clinician and statistician… I am aware of not only the gifted---and, no-no, you were not born with this talent you have of psychology; it is one certainly learned by dedication and commitment to excellence in every regard. As many of the Department have learned quickly of you; there will come a day where your ultimate contribution will not come from the academic domain of this profession, but from the heart… I am well aware of the talent you possess, and what’s scary is it being one the psychology field cannot assess by way of any model. You are the next…”
With unfounded respect of you, always!

Mr. Dooley was a great father and human being. He was a baseball coach of mine when I was younger and he was always extremely respectful and giving towards the players. He put time in to coach the team that his sons were also on and was always a driving force for all the players to learn and succeed. Mr. Dooley was always cheerful. I was deeply saddened to learn that Mr. Dooley had passed away and any comments which might be written negatively/insensitively about Mr. Dooley could only be written by people who obviously didn't know him. Mr. Dooley was a dedicated father, professor, and volunteer. Please show respect for a man who was nothing short of great.

This is not the first time I have seen this happen. It is so sad. The last time I have heard of this happening it messed up the railroad track bolts. My thoughts are with the family. http://www.yangtzeproducts.com/product-catalo...

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Libra

Be very careful when handling financial matters today because not everything is as straightforward as it seems. For instance, someone may tell you about a fail-safe way of making money but neglect to mention all the reasons why it's totally illegal. There could also be mistakes if you're spending money, such as being short-changed or overcharged. So watch out!
