To all valued NPT/ENPT residents against the Matinecock Court housing development project:
HELP is here. There is a facebook group of 1,048 fans & supporters (at last count). Search under "Stop the Matinecock Court housing development project" for more details & to join our cause.
We already had 1 on-site protest & another is planned for next month. The site administrator & founder has been interviewed by numerous local papers & the media, getting the word out.We are also collecting funds to hire a legal team to further our fight & we will be victorious.
Get out there, talk to your neighbors, friends. Raise awareness. Too many people have forgotten about this very real threat, since it has been 30 years since the project was introduced. But make no mistake, it is moving forward. It is our responsibility to stop it & to protect our town, children & proerties. Thank you.

LOL, It will be good for my kids to see the "different types of people." It will make them see what some of the socioeconomic groups look and behave like, and give them an extra reason to work real hard to avoid the freeloader pollution.

Fight this Northport-E.Northport. As a resident of Huntington, my wife and I read almost daily of the crime that occurs just outside of our schools. Massive shifting of students will cause overcrowding of classes due to the closure of one of our schools. Why did this occur? 1) Cultural diversity which is a BS term. It is a code for people that can not afford to support their own school system need help from those that can. They sell us learning new languages and cultures but really are trying to find a home for students that couldn't survive financialy in their own district. Take a look at Hempstead and Roosevelt. Residents of Huntington Bay, Southdown and Halesite pay a hell of a lot in taxes whereas those in multi-family dwellings in Huntington Station pay next to nothing. There was a stat that 5 square mile section of Huntington Station commits more than 50% of the harsh crimes in ALL of the second precinct. My wife and I have been trying to find a home in Harborfields but nothing good is available. Yet a ton in Elwood and Northport are. Now I know why. Many really nice homes have been built in sketchy areas that go to Elwood. If this project goes forward, you will see a decline in the high standards in a similar fashion to that in Huntington. And forget it if they zone that project for Harborfields. The reason these districts have had high standards is the community pays A LOT in taxes to keep these schools at top quality. Watering down the product with little to no additional revenue forces higher taxes or cuts in programs which is not fair.

One question: who voted for the politicians that let this happen? The bottom line is that you should vote for people who have your same views on life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. THis is what you get when you turn your eyes away from what your government is doing.

I don't care if your black, white, yellow, green or blue. If you have the money to live in a certain area using your own money, working a job that you get paid for, be my neighbor. I don't live in Lloyd Harbor or Muttontown because I don't earn enough money to live there. I don't feel that I should be able to live there just because I want to and now you have to make room for me. The sense of entitlement some people have is what is killing this nation. Everyone wants someone else to pay for what they want. Take control of your life and figure out what you want to do - just make an HONEST living at it. If you do that, believe me you would not want this housing project as your neighbor.

Daily Horoscope for May 19

Scorpio

There are days when you feel you can't say or do anything right, but happily this isn't one of them. In fact, it's a wonderful day in which everything goes well and it's remarkably easy to get on well with whoever happens to be around. Not that you want to spend your time with just any old person. You'd much rather get together with some close friends or that special someone in your life.
