The Greeneville Animal Shelter has a hound dog who's adoption fees have been sponsored. Unfortunately he's scheduled to be euthanized tomorrow unless someone intervenes. I live in the city and already have my allowed two dog limit. Is anybody interested in saving this poor dog? All you have to do is pick him up.

.

No,that is not all you have to do. Pets require a lot of care and no it's not just "pick him up." have you thought about how it's probably best he is being put down? Because obviously he had no one to care for him from the start.

Wow a little harsh there! The original poster probably is a kind hearted person who means well & as such thinks that anyone who would pick him up would be responsible & care for the animal. At least they cared enough to give the animal one last hope that a responsible person would pick him up and love & care for him! Animals who are unwanted might be better off put down but at least this post might bring interest to those who need good homes & good people will hopefully respond!

Maybe you need to be put down. Obviously no one cared enough about you to show you love.

Ohh is exactly right. Some dumb-azz refused to spay/neuther their pet... refused or is not able to take care of this poor unfortunate hound and that's why he's where he is... This dog is better off being euthanized than brought home, put on a chair outside away from a house (like I see all the time), fed Ole Roy and never given even the basic vet care...I'm sure Rescue is kind hearted and hoping that some responsible pet owner or rescue group could pick him up, but the cards are probably stacked against this poor dog through no fault of his own. It's sad.

Please know the difference between The Greeneville-Greene County Humane Society and Greene County Animal Control. The humane society is a "NO KILL" facility. Animal control euthanizes after 3 days, which is where this hound dog is at.

Send him to the freezer the county is overran as it is. If people would be responsible and have their pets fixed it would help.

Sorry to cause controversy guys. Yes I'm a responsible pet owner of 2 dogs and three cats. All rescues. Unfortunately I don't know the specific breed. Yes I was just using this forum to give the animal one last chance. Thanks for reading the post. We can't save them all.

well seance the animals can't say thanks for trying to help them i will. thanks for your effort. if more people would care about something other than themselves this world would be a better place. i hate to see them suffer, hurt or be put down myself & all my dogs that i've had accept one has been strays. plus four stray cats.

Let's hope this guy gets a wonderful loving home! This is an example why people need to spay & neuter to prevent the deaths of so many sweet, healthy animals that only want love and attention. In return, it is amazing how loyal and loving they are.... Even when people fail us and let us down!

Guess whose probably dead? No, it wasn't harsh but the truth. Sorry I didn't sugar coat it for you.

To the person posting about the difference between the no kill shelters...the fact is that they rarely take new animals at the human society because they can't get rid of the ones they have now.

On the phone now checking on her. I can't stand to see her needless euthanization. She definitely deserves a chance.

Let me know because I have a kennel , getting ready to take a Vet Asst. Course, and would love a to give her a good home. Of course , I do study a lot but I'm sure she could occupy her time with toys.

It would be great if you could take her. I'm willing, but I also have other pets so she may not get the attention she deserves but I will save her life if need be.

After talking to a man at Animal Control, he said that she is approximately 40 lbs. and a very sweet natured dog. He's uncertain if she's fixed but that is included with the adoption fee.

Please let me know if you are going to take her. If not, I was planning on going down this afternoon.

You are one abrasive individual! You don't need to sugar coat anything for me. You attacked someone whose heart was in the right place. I'm sure they expected whoever "picked him up" would give him a good home. I'm smart enough to realize & apparently you are as well, that it doesn't always end good for animals who are adopted or otherwise taken in by individuals who don't know or don't care about them.

You have also said the Humane Society "can't get rid" of the ones they have now! More negative speech there! The reason they can't get rid (your words) is because they screen applicants before placing pets.

Maybe instead of attacking people on topix you might make the world a better place by stopping your verbal attacks & talking down to others. As for me, I support the local shelters & even where my dog came from YEARS ago by donations & getting the word out about spaying & neutering.

I really hope you can find happiness in your life. You seem miserable in your attempts to not sugar coat things! Have you considered adopting q wonderful pet? They give unconditional love & just need to be pampered in return!

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Cancer

The question of who and what you should believe is never far away today. Someone could easily mislead you, although it's a moot point whether they do this intentionally or not. Or there could be a communication glitch that means no one knows what's going on. Be very careful when handling money because there could be lots of silly mistakes, and if you're really unlucky there might also be some double-dealing too.
