Lyle,
I wouldn't lose any sleep over Cheetah's last-ditch efforts to salvage what's left of their reputation. What are the odds that three people with no personal experience with Cheetah would stumble upon this thread at the same time (out of more than a trillion pages on the web) and then find themselves to compelled to comment? Maybe about the same as the odds of a couple dozen people all registering at Yahoo! Answers at the same time and posting glowing testimonials about a company that had only launched its new name and web site a few weeks earlier?:) Of course, two of the three latest defenders blocked their IP addresses/locations. The one that shows is from Cheetah's new place of business. In fact, if you look back at this entire thread,*every* post supporting Cheetah is from Greeley, CO ("Finally"), Greater LA ("Francisco"), or has a blocked IP/location ("Mike Sartoni", "Justin", Jamie, "Aron", and "Mike"). It may all be moot, anyway. The domains "cheetahmotorsports.com " and "cheetahchoppers.com " were only registered for one year each. Cheetah Motorsports doesn't expire until next month, but both web sites are gone, with messages from the hosting company that they have been disabled. |

Scooterist, you are correct, I am getting upset over nothing. I figured it was someone from Cheetah, why else would someone with no connection to this thread suddenly appear as unbiased spectatotors taking Cheeta's side. Their attempts are so obvious that a 3 year old can see it. I am no longer going to respond to anything in this thread, I've said all I need to, anything else would be redundant.

I just found this forum and figured I'd chime in. I purchased a 150cc cruiser back in October. My experience with them at first was pretty good. No real damage during shipping. Scooter ran well. The only thing was that the trunk that shipped was the wrong color and a headlight was out. I called and shipped the trunk back and actually got the correct trunk shipped back to me along with a headlight bulb.(They actually suggested I try to find a headlight locally first. Good luck with that.) Everything seemed fine.
However, after putting 262.7 miles on it, the speedometer cable broke. I called and they said they would ship a new cable. It never came. That's when I started calling and got the "Inbox full" messages and got no response from emails. My good first impressions have definitely changed over the past few months. This is definitely a shadier company that I had hoped to be dealing with. Now I'm just hoping to be lucky enough to not have any major problems. I've still been riding it (odometer still reads 262.7 though), but I'm also aware that if anything happens, I'm going to have to be forking over the repair cost myself. A local Vespa/Kymco dealer actually warned me before I bought it saying that a lot of the reason they cost more is because of the service. I got the Cheetah because I thought it looked cooler and it was cheaper. Live and learn I guess. |

Hi all,
I just came across this forum today after noticing that Cheetahs site is no longer up. Neither is their chopper site. I also purchased a 150 from them back in Oct. I had similar problems with the shipping company. My bike was not packaged well and had tipped over in the truck. Luckily it was placed near the inside wall and remained rested on it. My rear view mirrors were broken and I called Cheetah immediately. They were going to send them 2nd day. Never happened. Tried registering the scoot only to find that the MSO had a mis print by one digit. Again I called, gave them the info over the phone and through e-mail. They said it was on it's way. Never came. Justin even contacted me on March 9th and confirmed that they had the info. Again nothing. Now, their site is down and there is no method of contact. We'll see if they still keep track of any postings regarding them. |

It is a long shot, especially since they weren't honoring their warranty commitments even when they were still in business, but you can find some possible contacts, from public records by Googling "whois cheetahmotorsports.com " and "whois cheetahchoppers.com " Or maybe his partners in the chopper biz know where to find him. savagecyclesonline.com/Contact.html Good luck, at least getting the bike registered. |

Mike and Francisco has got to be a plant for the company Because everything that has happen to Lyle Coren has happen to me. The owner of Cheetah Motorspots should be charged with a crime and put in jail. He knew that if he gave a 2 year parts and labor Warranty that his Company would get a lot more sells. But he had know intentions on honoring the Warranty. You call Him they do not return your calls. They told me that I would have to pay for my own labor. They never sent me the part, they never gave me a scooter company in my area that I coult take my Scooter too as promise.
I dont beleave they inspected my scooter before delivery.I called and talk to Jammie and he didnt even know where the drain for the gear oil was located. We are not talking about a small amount of money for some people. So to Mike and Francisco if you dont know whats going SHUT UP. |

Crandall, I love these people who are not monetarily involved in this situation yet offer their unsolicited opinions. There are always going to be a holes who stick their noses where they don't belong, because it's they who don't have a life. You and I have similar experiences and we know the truth. Cheetah cheated us we know and Cheetah knows it, I'm glad they are out of business. Who knows though, Jamie is the kind of person who will open under a different name and start cheating people all over again.

I also bought a 250 touring model from Cheetah and have had nothing but troubles with it. I bought it in November and after a few weeks I had trouble starting it in the mornings because of the cold. Cold being 45 degrees here in Phoenix. After calling Cheetah I was instructed to take it in for service at S&S scooters http://www.ssscooters.com/ . They explained that these engines had been coming into the country lately with tight valves. They adjusted the valves and it has started great ever since.
A few months ago another problem developed where after riding for about 40 mins. or so, it had trouble accelerating from a stop. It jerks forward when I accelerate not accelerating smoothly as it should. After several weeks of trying to get a hold of cheetah to authorize warranty repair which included constantly getting full voice mailbox messages. The few messages I was able to leave were never returned. After several weeks of this I called one day and was lucky enough to get through to voice mail, I said if my call was not returned today I would call the BBB. Low and behold I had a call back 1/2 hour later. Now it gets interesting, when I was called back I was told they never received any of my previous messages. Which is either a lie or the truth because they just deleted their full mailboxes. When I explained the problem I was informed that they had no money left for warranty repairs. This was because fraudulent warranty claim repairs previously paid out had exceeded their budget for warranty repairs. I was told that I could wait til the middle of the year when they should have more money or get it repaired myself and they would reimburse me. Well if you think that was interesting check this out. After several weeks the problem got worse so I bit the bullet and took it back to S&S Scooters where my previous warranty work was done. At this point it was explained to me by S&S Scooters that they no longer did any type of warranty work for Cheetah because they have yet to be paid for the work they did for me back in November. Strange that a company could run out of money for warranty repairs when they are not paying the business that did the repairs. Go figure. So back to the problem with the Scooter, there have been three attempts to repair it with no luck. As for Cheetah since they never paid for the warranty work, I figured I had a chance in hell of getting any of the money I put in to trying to get it fixed. Now that they have taken my money and ran I guess I will have to wait til hell freezes over. I just wish to god this post had appeared before I bought mine. |

Damoo, you are proof that the only liars on this forum are those calling us liars. Your story is similar to mine except I was able to get a partial credit on my Amex card. I've said all I have to say about Cheetah I just wanted to let you know you were not the only one lied to or cheated. There is also a big write up about Cheetah on ScootDawg Scooter forum. Hope you get the scoot fixed.

Just for the record, I'm the customer Johnson talks about in his earlier post; the one with the starter problem. What he glosses over is the basic fact I had to do the repair myself because I could get no response from him. I actually met him at his office, rode one of the 50cc scooters and made the purchase right there in Greeley (I live in the Denver area). He delivered it to me so, of course, unlike with some of your experiences, it had to run and be in one piece. The starter problem showed-up at 40 miles and at 70 miles the battery went south. NO response at all re the battery; had to buy one and install it. Incidentally, it took me about 4 hours to find and fix the starter problem.
At this point any warranty claim is a lost cause. Johnson is an inept, failed businesmann; all talk and no action, who has chosen to cut and run rather than face his obligations. Guys of his ilk are a dime a dozen, especially on the internet. I sympathize with all of you who got cheated. By the way, I took the name off my scooter; they're just decals that peel right off. I don't want anyone who dealt with him to think I was dumb enough to make the same mistake. |
