What do you wanna bet that almost half of them have criminal records. And assumed identities. I heard that some of them are trying to buzz like honeybees.
I saw on wearing a shirt that said "I AM NOT A CRIMINAL" on it. Of course, I had to use my magnifying glass to read it. But these beetles keep getting smarter every year.

This is news?

Saw the same thing 20+ years ago with beetle kill fire wood.

They do make nice popping sounds in the fire though.

In Colorado the mountains are actually very beautiful. When something turns the trees red people actually care. So, yes, I guess this is news.

Now, maybe in Kentucky it wouldn't be. I wouldn't know. Never been there.

I saw one wearing a shirt that said "No soy un criminal". At least I think that is what it said. It was pretty tiny too.

I've never been to Kentucky either - thus the name on my post - my ISP server is in Kentucky.
I was born in Colorado and lived here my entire life.
And my point was this isn't news - pine beetles have been around here for over 25 years, the warning about transporting them in firewood has also been around that long.
