Gov. Eliot Spitzer is expected to be at Hofstra University today, with Nassau County Executive Thomas Suozzi and Nassau County Comptroller Howard Weiztman, to discuss his proposals for lowering the costs of special districts.

__________

This happened in Dec, so why the wait in reporting?

Also, is true Weitzman, when mayor, approved a loan to an employee to buy a house?

It seems Howard has skeletons, I wish someone would report!

Not while the people who are sucking all the cream out of the teats of the taxpayers are in charge with no checks and balances. And supposedly the private sector pays more than the public sector! Not on LI! Soon the only ones that can afford to live on LI as a single family in a single family house will be the ones in govt jobs sucking the teats of the taxpayers dry. Well I guess 35 illegal aliens to a single family house can come up with the ever-increasing tax bills ... the teat suckers will always get by.

Is he the one that lives in a co-op in Garden City whose property taxes are curiously way, way undervalued?

I can't believe it. I'll be lucky to get a 2% raise. That doesn't even cover the cost of living. My expenses are rising with no end in sight. And nepotism jobs like this get raise of $38,000. Doesn't the public attend these meetings where the raises are handed out? Why is there noone complaining until it is too late.

I would expect his contract to be bought out for a couple million. The hole keeps getting deeper.

These crooks have to be removed from their offices in handcuffs and arrested for theft of taxpayer funds. If this isn't a blatant finger to the community at large then I don't know what is.

Can anybody explain what a water dude does to justify that kind of money. Pediatricians and internests don't make that money after 11 years of school. If the people of Great Neck don't fire these losers- than they deserve what they get.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Capricorn

A certain person is strong-willed with the Full Moon in your emotional house of others. It's a lunar eclipse too, so this could lead to some ructions in which everyone becomes firmly entrenched in their own opinions and refuses to acknowledge anyone else's point of view. Get the arguments out of the way early on, so you can then concentrate on having a really enjoyable New Year's Eve.
