I had someone very close on pain pills and he has been on suboxone about a year. They saved his life. I have heard that methadone is almost as bad as pain pills.

Suboxone and methadone are derivitives of opiates. Your are substituting one drug for another. All are addictive. If you take suboxone and an opiate together they can kill you. But if you are truly wanting to get off pills, suboxone is the one to choose. But, you have to be serious and cannot back track. You have to want to stop using yourself, don't do it for any other reason or it will not work. You have to want to quit, or it will not happen. Hope this is helpful. If you are quitting for any other reason, than for yourself, eventually you will go back on pills. Life has so much more to offer you than living in a haze everyday. Take it from someone who knows and has lost everything. Life is hard, but you can be harder. Don't let something like a little pill rule your life, YOU RULE YOUR LIFE! Don't let pills rule it.

I was addicted to pills for ten yrs. No I didn't go out and party or sell dope, I was in a very bad accident and in a coma for awhile when I woke I was already addicted. I went for yrs trying to get off of them, I tried Methadone as well. However I almost died coming off of it.So I had a friend that told me to try suboxone and my life is turned around completely. I know peole hollar that you can still get high if you tske them but you can't tske pain pills it blocks them. Anyway I would reccomend it to anyone who is ready to quit.

I know this is has helped a few maybe more, but I also know for a fact that a lot of ppl using it to "get off the pills" are just using this and trading it back n forth and getting high just like they did on Oxy or wtv they were on, one drug for another has never really worked. Anyone know when/why heroin was invented? It was supposed to be the "suboxibe" for morphine addiction for wounded vets, and we all know what herion became.... SMH when will we all stop tryin to find an easy fix and just grow a pair, stay in a hospital ...for as long as it takes...maybe jail is the answer for some..I dont know. prehaps some humans are just that broken....darwanism anyone?!?

also a lot..and i mean A LOT are selling their suboxine to go buy the ones they wanted. Dont tell me that all these rinky dink clinics are following the letter of the law, I KNOW THEY R SUPOSED TO BE TESTED TO MAKE SURE ITS IN THEIR SYSTEM. That doesnt mean some just want to make money...like the 400 bux a month just to go to the "counseling". What a joke ppl buy a crappy, just HUD approvabal house and turn it into a couceling center. They hire couselors (which arent docs or phsycs or anything more than a person with tech school degree) pay them a flat hourly rate, no benifits, just get as many in and out the door a day as possible. Its always going to be about money. The ONLY answer is legalize it all. And I mean ALLLLL of it, those that wont do drugs..wont, those that will and can handle it will, those that cant help but do everything they can get their hands on...well...sadly they will prolly die. Its is called natural selection. I dont see fast food or sugar, or bacon being made illegal. Cigarattes and alcohol are addictive and kill a lot too. Its a CHOICE to be a junkie. You make it everyday that you go on your pill hunt instead of saying no. I frankly dont want those that are so fated to be gone to be breeding and creating more broken ppl for the rest of us to hand feed, cloth, and house. Its enough. Go do what you do, stop whining when it hurts that you touched the hot stove!

Say whatever you want about suboxone but I was hooked on pain pills, nerve pills, and just whatever beer, pot. Yeah I quit everything but the pain pills cold turkey, never bothered me at all, but I tried weaning myself down from pain pills well it didn't work. So I just got sick of the lifestyle, being addicted, having to have a pill everyday just to feel normal so I went on suboxone and it has saved my life. I'll never regret suboxone, I've been clean an sober for 2yrs & 3 1/2 months so you can't tell me anything about addiction & recovery that I don't already know. I would recommend suboxone to anyone who really wants to get clean! Not everyone sells or trades suboxone for pills, alot of people take them the right way and yes they work. The key to staying clean is changing who you loaf around, you can't loaf or be friends w/a pill head if you really want to be clean!

Anyone have any experience with tapering off suboxone and quitting completely? Subs got me off pills but I want to be free from all of it. Anyone have any experience with coming off subs and minimizing the W/D's? Any help appreciated!

coming off suboxone is nothing like coming off pills. its a very mild withdraw if you are ready to stop taking the suboxone then it will not be much of a problem for withdraws.. the only down side to it is.. i found that after 3 years of being clean taking the suboxone that when i did stop the craving for pills came back.. almost like i hadnt stopped doing them. it was really upsetting to me at first but i didnt give in and didnt take pills and now i have been off suboxone and for almost a year and still clean and sober loving life. It saved me and when I did stop I had barely any withdraws. Good Luck

are you saying this from experience? I tried to quit them back a few months ago. The W/Ds were AWFUL! I'm trying to taper now and then jump to minimize the w/ds. Anyone with info.....please share. I want OFF this train forever!

Good luck Barry! I don't know anything about coming off of either, luckily I avoided that missile that hit a lot of our area and I am thankful everyday for that. Search the web, I am certian there are a lot of forums talking about this, and real ppl talking, not doctors talking, I know how that is two totally different things. Stay strong and keep in mind what you have gained and what you could loose (up to and including your life) It sounds like you have made a great deal of progress and this just shows you are DEFINITELY winning!

What do you mean? What kind of W/D pill? I don't want to get hooked on something else. I'm going to dump all of it.......not interested in trading one habit for another. But I am interested in hearing more if it doesn't mean trading one drug for another.

Suboxone, if taken how it is supposed to, can be helpful. But now there are people buying and selling them to abuse just like pills. That's why so many doctors and psychiatrists are putting suboxone clinics in their practices. Its a huge moneymaker.

Anyone on this topic that has said the withdraws from suboxone is minimal has never REALLY come off of them. A girl once told me she quit them so i asked her how it was coming off and she told me if i could get through day 3 i had it licked!!!! Lmao, well thAt chick evidently hadnt come off of it. I was on it for 3 yrs, And it did turn my life around wouldnt be where im at now w/o it BUT in the end i was DEPENDANT on it. I couldnt do anything and didnt wann do anything if i didnt have it. So i finally was sick and tired of being sick and tired and i quit. Cold turkey. Didnt start to feel BAD till the end of the 4th day, after that it was hell for im not joking a month month an a half and it took me about 2 month to get back to feeling normal(whatever that is) BUT dont let this discourage you, i can now wake up everyday without having to find something and can go to bed at night without worrying where im gonna get a peice of one for the next day and yeah thats how suboxone does you. Im proud to say im clean today and not in a suboxone haze all the time. I finally LIVING. AND IM SURE GOD HAD A BIG PART OF GETN MY MIND RIGHT TO HAVE THE WANT TO GET OFF OF IT!! Good luck if i can do it...,,ANYBODY can trust me!!
