St.Paul, like Minneapolis, is a one party town and the DFL just cannot understand the basic law that ALL revenue for ALL social programs must come from commerce. DFL/liberals love taxes, regulations, unions, all of which are potentially crippling to business growth. The only way to change it is begin voting for somebody, anybody other than a DFLer. Or "Detroitization" will slowly continue.

They beg for LGA then tell you how much 10 percent of the state's population deserves 20% of the LGA doled out.

These national chain stores DO NOT grow the local economy. They oversaturate the local market and undercut the prices until local businesses close. When that happens they bump the prices back up.
In the end, chain stores leave cities with no net gain in jobs, but a net loss in incomes and a net loss in the amount of wealth that leaves the local economy.
It is sad to see so many people demonize unions and argue in favor of multinational chains. The unions are fighting to keep well paying jobs and local business alive. The multinationals just want to monopolize the market and extract as much wealth as they can. You people would probably have rooted for Goliath over David.
Just sad..

Are you calling the Canadian mega-corp Snyders a local business? it's not.
it would be nice if you had any studies to back that up, too. "we people" deal with facts, not babble. competition lowers prices.

Daily Horoscope for December 10

Libra

How is your Christmas shopping coming along? This is a good day for doing a little bit more of it, and your eagle eyes will spot some interesting items if you're looking for unusual gifts. It might help to take someone along to keep you company or to arrange to meet them afterwards. You'll be inspired to write some letters to put inside your Christmas cards if you haven't already sent them off.
