Grants restaurant wins NM burger challenge

Good for them!!!

I intend to head for Grants but my clunker won't make it. Suggestions appreciated.

Taste is subjective. Grants is the home of uranium mining and mill tailings are in everything. Wind has carried the Geiger counter friendly dust everywhere. It is no surprise that the food there gets glowing reports. The burgers stay with you considering the half life of two hundred years for the isotopes in the chile. The chile is greener due to kryptonite crystals in the cuticle. Nuclear green chile burgers, who can beat them.

I'm curious about who got second and third place. None of the media are saying.

I could go for one of these burgers! brought back memories of Bob’s Burgers and Kathy Burger's.

Ever tried a burger at the Outpost in Carrizozo? Those are the best, hands down IMO

I love the burgers from the Buckhorn in San Antonio, the Outpost would run a close second. Next time I'm in Grants I'll have to give them a try.

real funny . they get their chile like every one else in this state...from hatch . it is just too cool in grants at night in the summer to grow chile . are you saying hatch chile glows in the dark? i'll bet your nose does.

This is a great event. I had a GCCB (blakes) 2 days ago. I love finding new places with them. Monroes 00 burger, Bob's, The Owl, 66, even Twisters. I will look this place up next time through.

Gotta try the Pondo burger at the Ponderosa in Tijeras.

And if you ever get to the east side of the state try the Hideaway Lounge and Restaurant located at Sumner Lake. I'll put them up against any gccb I have eaten anywhere else in the state.

The Ponderosa is still kicking? I haven't been up there in years. They used to put out a killer rib-eye steak too.
