i have to agree they were in jail for doing wrong.
one of them for assult(which could have killed someone.)
i say oh well, guess their parents should have done a better job parenting. and perhaps their kids wouldn't be assulting with deadly weapons and be in jail.
if ya play rough you are going to get hurt. hopeful the two guys were cristian and are now with their maker who will give them their final senstence.
i am sorry though for the families of these guys they are in pain b/c of things that at this point they couldn't control.(((hugs))) to them.

Kill, all killers!! Less we have to take care of. Give them all a gun clear the guards out and cut them loose on each other. Sure will eliminate alot of our problems.

Chance has a good idea, next time don't stop the riot, just step back and make sure they stay in the prison walls and let them have at one another. They aren't there for being boy scouts. I do feel bad for their families, alot of good people have raised children who are criminals, most have tried everything to get them to stay out of trouble with no avail. It could be easier for some to say that you have lost a child than to admit that he or she is in prison for rape or murder. Just a thought.

No comment on Christian values or God's wrath but I have a friend with the OK DOC and I talked to him about this yesterday. This happens fairly frequently but the general public doesn't hear about it. The DOC is dreadfully underfunded and understaffed and yes Big Mac is a ticking time bomb.

Normally I don't reply to these things, but I have to say you are so out there on this! I know & work with Mr. Morris' father - not a finer man around. You obviously have not had children and don't remember being one yourself. You can not tell me that you never did anything that your parents didn't approve of. Parents can only do so much and then we are left to make our own decisions. Granted Mr. Morris was in jail on a serious crime, but he was still a son with parents who loved him despite everything. My heart goes out to this family and the family of the other young man. My prayers for you and the others that have such a cold heart and can not see how these families are suffering.

Annie whoever the hell you are, you are a very ignorant and thats for the rest of you stupid ass people. That was my little brother and reguardless of what you dumb asses think he was a good person and loved by many. And as far as his parents they are suffering and they raised him just fine. How can people say coldhearted things. Inmates are human being just like anyone else. Who are you to judge your sons or daughters life could be taken at any moment. Would you want someone saying that their life wasn't of value. We are hurting right now. Through all the mistakes that were made my brother deserves the same respect as anybody else that has passed. I truly hope you ask God to forgive you for the lack of love. REST IN PEACE JASON I LOVE YOU!!!!

I can not think what I would do if my child was in jail and he was killed there, it does not make the pain any less to loose a child in prision. People choose their path in life, a parent and a strong background help to shape a child and their future, but in the end the child/adult makes the choice what to do. So I disagree with all the comments about the parents should have done a better job, I am sure the parents loved these men, and I hope their families can find some peace dispite all the mean and hateful comments coming from here. all of you making the "Christian" remarks, where are your Christian values, to love each other, and not to speak hate over one another? There are 2 families suffering the loss of their loved ones, dispite the crimes these men commited, and my heart goes out to them. May God give them peace in this hard time. Bless you.

You dont feel bad for the family. Ignorance is bliss. Death is death and Life is life no matter who it is. Hurt is hurt everyone hurts the same. Just because my brother was incarcerated doesn't mean he deserves to die.

To the Howard family, my deepest sympathy no one deserves to die. My husband was a DOC officer at OSR and I can attest to the understaffing because he and Sgt. Gamble were attacked on June 5, 2000 by an inmate. The prisons are understaffed and underpayed. The world is a violent place, but you cannot decide say someone is bad just because they are in prison....There are inmates who went to prison for not paying child support, writing a bad check, or other non-violent crimes....sometimes the crime was a spur of the moment deciscion....in other words don't judge...let's just figure out a way to protect both the officers (staff) and the inmates from more violence.

First off its crazy how many ignorant people are in this world. This was my little brother and yes while jay was in jail for shooting with intent to kill, you also don't know the situation at hand and that it was self defense. Jay was a good person and was raised by great people. Yes he made a few mistakes in his life but he was young. Thats what young people. Who are you to judge. What you probably figure is that this boy is from a low class, singe parent family. No that is not the case. He was raised in a two parent, middle class family. He learned from his mistatkes and was doing his time. He did not deserve to go like this. Its funny how the news made sure to mention that no guards were harmed and that the whole incident was over in 5 minutes. I don't care if the incident took 2 minutes. In two minutes lives were lost and over a dozen others injured. I'm happy that no guards were injured but what about the other people. Also it says that they didn't fire any warning shots or tear gas...Why??? Any situation like this desperate measures need to be taken. That could have meant the difference in 2 inmates killed or two inmates seriously injured. We are really grieving this sudden tragic lost of our Son, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, Nephew, Please keep your harsh comments to yourself. Think about it as if this was your son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew. Let him rest in peace. Jay will love you so much! R.I.P

Kudos to the security team at the prison for not having to use any barbaric means to stop the barbaric activities. That's to be commended.

To the Morris Family, do not put so much focus on what others are saying. GOD is in charge and has a plan.

May GOD Bless.....
