Ned wrote: Does anybody remember a yearly party on the Little Muskegon river called Pig's Point Boogie. Hi Ned, I just brought it up at a party recently. My wife and I had just met and had an old beat up wide bottom canoe. This place was perfect for Pig's Point! I left it there all weekend for all to use. For those of you not familiar, you could launch a canoe or raft and the river would take you on a nice little trip, which would bring you back to within fifty feet of where you started. If anyone remembers how to get there, let me know at: wdvj@netzero.com Thanks

Mike wrote: I first moved to the area in 1974. There was a small store on Division called "House of Items".....the name still cracks me up. I was laughing about that very store with a friend yesterday! I moved away about 12 years ago. If I remember correctly it was in the area of Division between Hall and Burton on the East side of the road? I'd trade a kidney for a photo of that "House of Items" sign!

Anyone remember the name of the restaurant/bar that the band "Home" played in a lot, I think it was on or near Ionia Ave. My husband thinks it may have been The Old Place or something like that?

Does anyone remember the kid that was paralyzed after he dove off a bridge during the WLAV Raft Race in "73" or "74"? He was in Springbrook Nursing Home for years. My grandmother and sisters worked there many years ago...

The river water was dirty and you couldn't see the bottom even in foot deep water. I participated every year and it really was lots of fun...but would allowed my kids do something like that today? oh...hellno...lol...

I was thinking just today how much I miss Rick Beckett. Those years with Darla,Scott and Roving Ralph were the best. It was probably the only show that made me laugh out loud. Rick was one of a kind.

I'm trying to remember where on South Division the Elbow Room was located. From there, we ate pizza at Maria's Pizza on Division near 36th St.

I remember the Sambo's Restaurant on 28th St. just north of the Beltline. That name wouldn't be PC in today's society.
