A state grant to get the police to pay attention to drivers???

Isn't this part of their routine anyhow?

I wonder how they can fight "crime" when they are busy helping Insurance Companies make a larger profit?(This is a job for a traffic "engineer"....not a beat cop)
I wonder which insurance companies paid bribes to state legislators to create the grant? I wonder which legislators accepted the bribes?
I wonder how I can get a grant to have the police watch the stop sign at the intersection where I live?
(Plenty of farmers sail right through it everyday without stopping!)
Will Mike Cox ever investigate his own party members for corruption???
No one really care how you wonder NEKO, I wonder what is going on inside that skull of yours.

You might think it'd work like that. First off, I've already covered why putting cameras everywhere isn't a good idea. Secondly, what if I borrow your car and go on a stoplight running marathon? It'll be you getting the pile of tickets. Even if they do happen to have the cameras set to record my face they'll have a hard time in pinning it down. Sure, you'll tell them who it is in the photos but it'll still be a huge hassle for you, me, and the police. And that's not to mention all of the people who will intentionally dope their windshield and license plate with super reflective materials so that the camera gets nothing.

Any way you slice it automated cameras are ripe for abuse on both sides. Both by the municipality (chaCHING! Mega money!) and by drivers (let's see how they like taking snapshots of the license plate after I spray it with this!) Nobody is going to feel bad about tricking a camera.

Well, his brain, unlike yours, is probably working on properly conjugating verbs and using commas in the right places.

But your post didn't really add much to the discussion anyway. His post was not totally invalid. The insurance companies really do gouge people because of traffic citations. And maybe they are behind this. I'm not so sure I believe it, but it could be true.

And we all know of intersections that should be policed a little better than they currently are.

I could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure that Mike Cox has ruled the use of cameras at intersections not legal in Michigan. Thankfully.

As far as running red lights\stop signs, the'd be better off enforcing this instead of speeding. A lot of speed limits are too low, when using the 85th percentile rule, or whatever you call it. Besides, speed doesn't kill, so spend some time ticketing where most accidents occur--intersections.

Silly concept, huh?

Gotta love sitting at a red light with a cop at one of the corners and you see someone blow it and they just continue on their merry way. As many times as I've seen it, it can't be that they're on the way to a call, either.

I don't know if camera are illegal or not, in public places think that they ae allowed, and there is a camera at the interesection of Fulton & La Grave watching all the caqrs run that light and people in that area too. Its too high up for drivers to notice. They just need to sit in the cars (which they are good at) on one of the side streets or in parking space by Veteran's park and ticket everyone $100 (no exceptions) for all that run red lights on Fulton & stop in the middle of the intersection so both pedestrains can't cross and cars on side streets that have green light can't cross cause some idiot is blocking the intersection (usually about 4 idiots). Ticket then all. Go piggy go.

Too many drivers are simply oblivious to their surroundings.
The police have announced which intersections they are going to be watching red light runners and at what time. There are still a whole lineup of cars that were stopped for it.

Same thing for seat belt enforcement. There are signs posted "Seat Belt Enforcement Zone Ahead". There are still rows of offenders pulled over waiting for their ticket.
They all deserve tickets.

America is not blessed it is cursed and not even in the Book of Revelation. Let's see no prayer in school, or courts anymore, founded on Judo or Jewish and then Christain principles and turn from G-d, now we support gays, casions, porn, etc., and in same breath day God Bless America, America is cursed, realize it. But America has to self destruct itself for the world to come to one big end and for the true tribulation to start. This ain't nothing yet.

We are Americans, with freewill. If we are on G_d’s side, who can stop us?

Pretty sure that you're mistaken, because the city of Wyoming has several traffic cameras "patrolling" out there right now. To top it off, the timing of the yellow light has been shortened to catch as many people as possible.

54th and Ivanrest is a perfect example. Check it out if you're in the area- but don't try and get through on a yellow!

Yes, I mentioned this earlier in the thread. Cutting the yellow light time in half so that you can write more tickets is EVIL. Not to mention it makes the light too short to really have enough time to stop. This creates a potentially dangerous situation.

It is not just evil, but illegal as well. There are standards for the minimum time that a yellow light has to be displayed, and the light that I pointed out goes below that minimum.

Drivers that get caught at that light should all be disputing the ticket.
