Erectile dysfunction IS a medical condition. Do insurers provide it with no cost to the insured?

What's the cost margin, batteries vs viagra?

Welcome to the problem with gov't healthcare. What it covers and what it doesn't... Liposuction, along with a million other elective type surgeries...then you get into thes add ADHD drugs that are vastly over medicating our children for a "disorder" which now afflicts most children...really? You wonder about how autism numbers became so huge, well they expanded the definition to include more and more people, so as to show need for more gov't money in grants to fund research...it's all about money.

healthcare has enough problems without the government getting anymore involved with its regulations and requirements. Hopefully, obamacare will get repealed.

Wife works in a pharmacy, and truth be known, every insurance company offers different coverages....i would think the problem is more the seperate companies and their ununiform coverages......

look the government thinks (and many people too) that they can get involved and make everything better. nothing is going to be perfect but at least with the free market you have a choice of who you do business with and if you don't like it then you change it. You can choose to have health insurance or not, what company you have it with, or what limits you have. Now with the government getting more involved you will not have a choice if you can have it, you will limited on company choices for sure, and coverage limits. The government started this mess with tax write offs for companies that provided health insurance for employees and heavily regulating medical care. Now they want to get more involved to make it better. insane.

Dan wrote: <quoted text> Viagra is a treatment for a medical condition. Right..that's why most insurance companies consider it a 'lifestyle' drug and don't cover it without an extra rider. ED may be a physical condition, but it's not considered a medical necessity to treat. Not being able to get an erection doesn't cause anyone physical harm and is not considered a 'disease' per se. Menopause is a medical condition (along with the infertility that condition brings) but I think most people would agree that treating the infertility of a menopausal woman isn't a medical necessity. OTOH, there are often medical/physiological reasons why a man can't get an erection, such as poor circulation or a heart condition. Ever wonder why those commercials say to check with your doctor to see if you're healthy enough for sex before you take that drug? That would be why...they're treating the symptom (not being able to get an erection) and not the underlying cause...as is often the case with these types of drugs.

The ppl who pays the premium its their money being used to supply this stuff, If it is a Self insuring insurance and it is faith based it is wrong and a infringment on the rights of the policy holders rights to make them pay for or supply free contraceptives.

He didn't compromise, he backed away because he needs the Catholic vote to get re-elected. IF he is re-elected it will all come bouncing back like a rubber ball. And you can take that to the bank.

Well, since you couldn't spell it correctly, can I correctly glean that you don't know what the word means either? I will give you a hint...Obama doesn't compromise...he backs away and saves it for another day. It's an old Democrat party trick. Rather like a child...they always want to know that if the answer is no on Monday, it's no the rest of the week as well. That is exactly how I view the politicians..they are children who don't like to be told no.

If Catholics are allowed to use birth control, it will mean less births, less choir boys, and we all know what that would lead to!
