Gamblers could be nabbed for child support

Go for it. There are too many kids going without so their parents can have the fun they feel they "deserve".

I'm all for it, as long as they don't go after those who are not in the rears, And take care of their children.

I'm all for it!! So many dead beats are goings out and having fun and doing what ever they want, while their kids are going without. It's time for these parents to pay up!

With all the casinos they have here in michigan, they should do this here.

I agree wholeheartedly. The stimulus payment is being taken from those in arrears, why not gambling winnings?

I think that this should be implemented in every state! This problem is getting larger and larger by the day! Children deserve to have the support they need from both parents. Emotionally as well as FINANCIALLY!!!! Lets pass this law for every state and fast!

i agree but also want you woman to know not everyone in arrears is a dead beat or irresponible nor due half of the ones who recive it spend it on the children and the state holds it all long enough to gain intrest so its also another way for the state to get money that is not due to them

I agree as well. If you are a father you are equally responsible for raising your child. This rule should also go for deadbeat moms. I know there are not as many out there, but I do know a couple of guys who are raising their kids and mom took off without paying a dime. If you create a child you are both responsible to take care and raise that child. It makes me sick when I read about a parent (of either sex) who has to fight for child support. What is wrong with someone who doesn't want to support their offpring? I just don't get it.

I so agree,,I get $48.00 a month for back support ,,we figured it out,, the x will be 82 yrs old to pay it all back,,what a joke...court systems are so great..but he does know how to beat the system,,they learn how to scam everyone..Now thats what a call lowlife slackers...They also know how to keep living off woman,,and make them feel sorry for them,,very stupid women..........

To "Not A Deadbeat Dad" We all know not every dad who is behind in child support is a deadbeat, no one said that. But if someone is behind in support for whatever reason, and are at a casino ...HELLO?!?!?!?!? Can we get a clue here?

right hello all i see is woman complaining no childern all im saying is this you don't want us doing nothing if we owe back child support. But think before you speak cuz my guess is you owe some kind of money to something but do as you plz and before you slam me i've paid support since i was 16 and have delt with the foc and have got threw in jail for owing as little as 100 dollars back but ones who are 50,000 dollars behind walk free but o you woman/guys who recive can due anything you want with the money that belongs to the child but you also didn't see where i said i agree But make sure the money goes to the child now HELLO !!!!!!

Can you clarify something for me? You were paying child support when you were 16?

I get what you are saying here. My ex is $50,000.00 in arrears and has been a truck driver for over 10 years. All he had to pay all this time was $76.00 a week for 2 children.
All of the support that I migt receive does go to my children because I pay all the bills and everything else waiting for it to come in. When I finally get a payment usually they have some program or sports thing that has to be paid or new clothes and such. I do not want his money for me only for my children but the courts have repeatedly slapped his hand and let him live free and clear to have a life of fun while I am struggling to pay all my bills, put food on the table and clothes on their backs.
I am all for stiffer penalties against deadbeat parents. I know I did not make these children on my own and I cannot for the life of me understand how someone could just walk away from taking care of their responsibilities (children).

I know that a couple years ago that they reported that it takes around $109,000 to raise a child from newborn to age 18. I have to date already paid $82,000. My daughter is now 9 years old so you do the math. So where is the other parents share. Pur friend of the court system in Michigan sucks. They stick it to the person paying and ignore those that are behind!! I also think some parents should be fair and work with others. Some of the support amounts that are set are out of some peoples means. Like Mine!! I am not saying that I am not responsible for my child because I will always support my child so don't think i am trying to get out of it. I also do not make that much money especially with our economy. FOc also gives a cost of living increase even if I do not recieve on. So as far as I am concern I do my share. I think deadbeat dads should step up to the plate.$10-20 a week is a start!
